Homeowner Katheryn Burton, 53, was stabbed multiple times, in addition to being shot in the head; the knife used in the stabbing was found in the home.
• The three men who were shot and killed suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body, including their heads.
• Several bullet casings were found in the home at 2634 E. Main Cross St.
• An undefined amount of processed methamphetamine found in the home led police to describe the killings as drug-related

A man identified to investigators only as “Sam,” who brought a .22-caliber weapon to the home, was seen there at 3:30 p.m. Saturday by Burton’s 27-year-old son, Daniel, as he left for work, Gorbett said. Besides Sam, the other people inside the house at the time were:
• Katheryn Burton.
• Thomas W. Smith, 39, who was Katheryn Burton’s boyfriend and lived with her.
• Aaron T. Cross, 41, a friend and neighbor of the couple.

So "sam" was at the house when Daniel went to work but not when he returned.

but Shawn came over after Daniel left because he was found deceased in the home.

Sorry to quote myself but it seems the man currently in jail is the Sam that Daniel saw at the house before he went to work.

Hopefully, justice will be served.

Or could have been a grudge and the drugs were actually unrelated.

LOL they talked to him and found an unrelated reason to jail him while they finished the investigation.

The whole phone call was strange.

There were 3 bodies in the living room but he only saw two (the other must have been under the other 2 bodies?).

He may have been in shock (I'm sure he was) and he was probably aware of the drug activity.

And his mother was the only one with stab wounds.

And "I watch a lot of CSI, I'm trying not to disturb the crime scene." What an incredibly odd thing to say.

But, he isn't a suspect, so it just goes to show you that even innocent people can have some suspicious-sounding 911 calls!

Just finished reading the entire transcript of the 911 call. Although it sounds odd, it also sounds like a 911 call a WSer might make. He obviously knows what he's talking about!

The prosecution and defense in the Samuel E. Sallee murder trial completed opening statements Tuesday in Bartholomew Circuit Court.

Bartholomew Deputy Prosecutor Kathleen Burns provided a preview of the evidence saying that .22 caliber gun casings found in a home where Sallee had been living in 2012 matched those found at the murder scene.

Samuel Sallee, 57, faces life in prison without parole for the killings of three men and a woman on Mother's Day weekend two years ago.

Judge Steve Heimann noted several aggravating circumstances before sentencing Sallee, including 18 criminal convictions over Sallee's lifetime. Judge Heimann sentenced Sallee to life in prison without possibility of parole on each of the four counts.
