Inconsistencies in DB's Story

If it was his first evening on that shift, as was earlier stated, why would he be surprised at lights being left on?

New stuff I got from the Dr. Phil show:

1. From DB: Lisa had an ear infection that she was recovering from.
2. From Tacopina: there was another possible access that was downplayed by LE via the garage.

About the ear infection:

Wasn't Lisa taking antibiotics? If she truly had an ear infection then she probably had to be taking SOMETHING because the infection does not just go away by itself.

If she was taking meds then she should have been looked in on before that long interval that she was unattended. imo

Also, infections can spike very high fevers really quickly. Mom should not have been drinking heavily with a sick child in the home. imo

If it was normal for DB to leave the lights on and JI to be annoyed, why did he go to check on Lisa? What caused him to alert that something wasn't right? Did he normally check on all the kids before he went to bed? Did he check on Lisa then go to DB's room to see if she was there?

THe only thing I can think of is that the lights being on etc. was the usual sign that she was drunk and the kids had been on their own all evening.

The front door unlocked, the lights on, and the computer window open....it's no wonder he was concerned, imo.

I sound like a broken record but the lights were not an inconsistency to me before this interview. Now they are at the top of my list.

Was it highly unusual, a cause for concern and a cue to start checking on the children that the lights were on? Or just the normal thing and JI was always annoyed that too many lights were on?

Let's remember that JI had never worked the night shift before, so perhaps he never knew which lights were on/of when they went to bed.

If he is concerned about electric bill-I don't think so.

Here are all of JI and DB's statements. I don't believe there is anything missing but if you notice that there is please let me know.

I think it's inconsistent on Dr. Phil when she says that she's going to feel guilty about being drunk because she could have heard something and stopped it if she wasn't, but then she negates it almost immediately and says that she didn't tell about the drinking because it was totally irrelevant and had nothing to do with Lisa's disappearance. If her drinking may have prevented her from saving Lisa her drinking is not totally irrelevant, and if she thinks her drinking is totally irrelevant she is not feeling the least bit guilty about it.

this contradiction stood out to me too... big time.

deb-- which is it???!!! :banghead:

Ji said something about going into the room and putting their youngest boy in his bed. no mention of the oldest boy being in the bedroom and having to be put back in his bed. So were both boys with Db in the bed or only one?

Am I the only one that thinks she really wasn't drinking, or if she was, not that much? I think the drunk story is to cover up all the inconsistencies of the sleeping arrangements, when she went to sleep or checked on Lisa, leaving lights on, etc??

Now in her defense (hate to say that), my toddler has been a horrible sleeper since birth and I could never tell you the specific time of each instance I check on him during the night or really even the exact time I put him to bed. I'm never looking at a clock when I do it, I just go check on him.

She was lying when she said that mixing alcohol & her medication doesn't have any effect. If what I have read here is correct, she was/is on Effexor & it DOES have many side affects, & those are amplified by alcohol. This is exactly what pushed me off the fence, in the first place. These medications are handed out like candy nowadays, & the effects have NOT been studied enough.

Nope. :)

I've doubted the drunk story since she first stated it. Sometimes things seem just a bit too convenient, kwim? For me personally it would have helped to dispel doubt had she appeared to feel remorseful or regretful her drinking that night may have played a role...instead of entitlement, denial and ignorance.

If nothing else you cannot recall the last night you held your baby in your arms. You can't remember every little detail - the last look on her face, what her hair smelled like, if she giggled when you were tucking her in, etc. (hypothetically of course) Wouldn't you at least, even if not involved, feel regret over losing those precious memories because of your own actions? :waitasec:

I too very much suspect that she wasnt drunk at all. I'm a fence-sitter at this time, but...

Is that proof that she's lying, or proof that she doesn't know any better?

When she is prescribed the meds, the side effects are listed on the info that comes with the meds.

How do we know she read the warning label?
