An arrest warrant said Champion is accused of using a .45 caliber semi automatic weapon to shoot his mother, father, sister and Riservato. The document also claimed Champion kidnapped his sister and tied her up using duct tape.

Plotkin said Riservato told her the family was nice and Champion's sister, Emily, was "the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.
"He had told me he wanted to get to know Emily better," Plotkin added. "He heard two heartbeats. One was his and one was Emily's." Plotkin said she believes Champion is innocent.

I just don't even know what to make of that comment by the friend of RC and VR. Is she insinuating these murders were committed by VR as a result of spurned love or something? Emily's friends have left such beautiful and heartbreaking messages on her FB. She was obviously very loved and is truly missed.

KSP Detective Sergeant Dean Patterson said Emily was considered the kidnapping victim.

“We still consider Riservato to have a role in the incident but due to him being deceased, we will not be seeking charges,” said Patterson. “Everyone has opinions on what might have happened, however the only things that will help solve the case are facts, not opinions.”

Channel 4 looked into Champion's past. In 1996, he pleaded guilty to attempting to elude a police officer. Over the last 15 years, Champion has pleaded guilty to nearly 15 traffic violations in numerous counties.

A commonwealth attorney confirmed that a Trigg County grand jury will hear Ryan Champion's case next Wednesday during an interim session.

If the grand jury returns an indictment, the preliminary hearing scheduled for next Thursday would be canceled the next day.

Ryan Champion, 36, was indicted in Trigg County, Kentucky on Wednesday for the murder of Vito Riservato, 22, and on three counts of complicity to commit murder for the deaths of his parents and sister.

Ann Plotkin, a friend of Champion and Riservato, who is also considered a suspect in the murders, told Channel 4 that Riservato briefly met the Champion family last week at their home.

Champion also told media outlets that he had only Riservato met once before the killings. He posted updates on Facebook after the slayings, saying he had survived and was recuperating. Not in my world. IMO...RC's innocence I do not question. Vito's, at this point, I do.
Champion appears to be an arrogant lil chap at that...

Late last week, Champion was advised by his attorneys not to speak to the media, but Wednesday afternoon, he signed an affidavit acknowledging he was talking to a reporter of his own free will.

The man charged with killing three members of his family and a possible accomplice entered a not guilty plea Wednesday.

Ryan Champion pleaded not guilty to all four murder charges.

Champion's father, mother and sister were all found murdered in their Cadiz, KY, home, and with Vito Riservato, an acquaintance of Champion.

Champion said Riservato killed his family, but he was able to escape and kill the suspect.

Detectives said Champion made up that story and was involved in the killings.

The mother of a man implicated in a multiple-murder that also cost him his life said she's more shocked than anybody.

Lindsey and Joy Champion, their daughter Emily Champion, and Vito Riservato were found dead at the Champions' Cadiz, KY, home on Oct. 26.

Kentucky State Police issued a press release the next morning, claiming they believed the suspect to be among the deceased.

Five days later, officers arrested Ryan Champion, the family's oldest child. Ryan Champion was the only person to walk out of the house alive. Police accused him of kidnapping his sister, Emily, and murdering the group.

Riservato's mother, Hui Li, said she raised her son to be a straight-A student. Li said her son took care of his elders and dreamed of becoming a chef.

Prosecutors in Kentucky said they planned to seek the death penalty in the case of a man accused of brutally killing his parents, sister and another man.

The decision was announced during an arraignment hearing Wednesday for Ryan Champion.

Champion pleaded not guilty to the charges. At court it was revealed he had fired his public defender and hired attorney Tom Osborne.
