Continued until July 12 because they can't find a bed for her in a substance abuse treatment facility.

Also judge said she is accepting the recommendation. So no surprises. Her plea deal will go through :(

Are they "Tweeters" or "Twitters" ?? :giggle:

Well - I guess I'll see you all tomorrow for MM sentencing, and then back on July 12 for hers...

Don't know how to bring a comment over from the previous thread...someone had mentioned why have the rusty weight, or something to that affect, but one thing to remember is addicts will take anything, ANYTHING, in an attempt to sell it for a dollar. Just look at the Facebook garage sale sites...half a bottle of shampoo for only a dollar! I wish I was joking, but addicts constantly worry about their next fix and will sell anything. I'm actually surprised there was any of Bella's stuff left!

Also, while I'm glad she will be in jail a bit longer, the idea of her not having a safe place to sleep sounds good too. I'm usually all for rehabilitation of criminals, would much rather see money go to that than other things. But it's a little too late to care about what she does with her life.

I just noticed it took ONLY two years for this case to go thru the system.... Now WHY does it take California 6 to 7 years for Justice to be served??? i.e. McStays murders!

Later folks! :seeya:

They have garage sales on Facebook?? Who knew?!! Thanks for that info, but really doubt there are any here.... They've never heard of them as far as I know!

I want to know what happens when they have the appeal.....what if RB has skipped town, or isn't alive by then?

ETA....would be awesome if they had to keep her in jail to ensure her testimony.

They are pretty awesome, I sell a lot of stuff on there(well I put it outside and list it and say leave money under the mat as I don't want to open my door to random people) and so far no one has stolen anything! I use to just donate it but ever since the Salvation Army stopped coming to my area to pick up donations, whatever doesn't fit in my jeep gets listed on fb!

good point...I assume Shapiro will cover that as she is critical to his appeal. both options you mention are possible. I understand Shapiro is going to ask for bond for MM pending appeal...no way should that be granted...no way even though I believe in his case...a high risk to use again and also flea and probably both. Despite this mis carriage of justice MM is a very bad guy with an awful past and is also a danger to society.

Folks, a little bit of off topic random posts, is ok but let's try to keep it at a minimum. People come here to read from all over the world about this case and may not want to wade through extraneous information.
:lurk:

It's the trial that is at issue in an appeal, during which the appellate judges review the trial record.

Where RB now matters to the State is if MM's conviction is overturned on appeal. Without RB's testimony, the State has virtually no case. And her prior testimony cannot be used in a subsequent trial, due to the hearsay rule and not being able to cross-examine her.

does her "deal" extend to a second trial based on appeal..I always felt if this trial was a mistrial she would be required to testify again but now wonder about an appeal?

Has she appeared in court today? Did I miss it?

And how is that different then her life before?
Maybe the CW can put her up in the Hilton until a bed at an amazing rehab centre is provided. [emoji849]
