Flint stabbings may be related to Leesburg, Virginia

FLINT (WJRT) -- (08/09/10) -- Leesburg, Virginia police believe man responsible for Flint stabbings may be responsible for stabbings there.

We have new information at this hour regarding the serial slasher, the man police say is responsible for killing five people, and wounding eight others in various attacks that have taken place in and around Flint since May.

The guy is now in Toledo...been all over the news today..church maintenance worker (african-american) was approached by man Saturday night and asked for directions, then stabbed him twice in abdomen. He's still alive and gave an excellent description..they are saying here that he is of Middle Eastern nationality, reported elsewhere as caucasion...here is composite...

The most recent Leesburg attack occurred Friday night when a 19-year-old Hispanic man was struck with a hammer by a stranger, police said. The attacker fled in the dark-green SUV, and the victim was treated at a local hospital.

About 9:30 p.m. Aug. 3, a 15-year-old boy was stabbed near East Market and Plaza St. SE. His attacker was a white man with a stocky build who wore a baseball cap. The vehicle he fled in was described as a green mini van with a white stripe.

Then, on Aug. 5, just after 6 a.m., a 67-year-old man was stabbed, police said. In that case, the attacker fled in what was described as a dark Chevy station wagon.

IF, these attacks are all attributable to the same guy, he sure has been busy over the past couple of weeks! He's been attacking someone approximately every day or two.

His last Flint victim was found at 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday Aug 3. He would have had to drive for approximately 9 hours to get to Leesburg. His next victim was at 9:30 that night. A day and a half later, he attacked his next Leesburg victim just after 6:00 a.m. (Thurs Aug 5). His final Leesburg victim was on Friday night (Aug 6). A 'quick' 7 1/2 hour drive would bring him to Toledo, where he stabbed someone at 8:00 (not clear whether this is am or pm) on Saturday Aug 7. He's almost back home to Flint. :(

They now believe there have been 15 victims in the Flint area between May 24 and Aug 2 (note this last date had previously been reported as Aug 3rd?) - with 5 deaths. Victims range in age from 17 to 60, all male, both black and white, both slim build and heavyset.

I don't know, I don't think these are related. A hammer?? You don't stab 14 or so people and then use a hammer...and how many dark colored SUV's are there? JMO..not related

the 15 year old boy...not buying that either. Green Mini van with white stripe? The SUV in the real attacks is VERY distintive. Dark Green/TwoTone...not striped, two toned..and the color is tan...

67 year old man...reaching on this also, chevy station wagon?

Not to mention all the driving like a madman all over. I think this guy is a Michigander, and swooped into Toledo. I live in Toledo and going straight up I75 can get to Flint in 30 minutes...I just don't believe he drove frantically to Virginia, and then to Toledo...I have to agree with the other poster on her time frames.
It was funny tho...I picked up the paper this morning and read about the custodian being stabbed and I thought to myself, this sounds like the Flint guy. The Blade DID NOT make or imply that assumption this AM, it became "late breaking news" in the afternoon that they said it was the Flint guy.
Good composite photo...I wonder how accurate it was. Plus, like I stated before with the link, they are reporting here that the man was Middle Eastern.
 
I don't think the last couple out of state attacks were him either. just moo. I live not far from Flint, a little south-west of there. Can I tell you guys that since I saw this composite, my heart has stopped a couple times. I swear all the 25 yr old guys around here look exactly like this guy and the trucks are all green/teal/blue/black/grey jimmies. We live on a hill overlooking a small but fast moving 2 lane road, traffic is constant. I could go out there right now and see countless trucks that are like this guys truck but just off enough that I would'nt call LE.
One thing I did think of when i look at the composite, is that alot of younger 20 somethings don't like their hat turned in. They like a flat bill. So I was thinking he was a tad older maybe 30's or a farmer type guy, it seems like they all keep their bills turned in just cause they are dirty and grabbing at them all day while they are working. If that makes sense?? just my opinion o'course.

Thank you for posting this. It appears the tan part is on the lower sides of the vehicle. I hope LE is able to enhance this video to get a more definate make and model of the SUV.

That depends really, a lot of guys I know my age (21) or around there would scoff at a flat billed hat if they mostly listened to country music or really prided themselves for being country. The majority of people I know tend to listen to hip hop and rap and have both kinds but prefer flat billed by a landslide :) I know both kinds in the flint area.

Side note but this guy looked a lot like one of my friends in burton, if he didnt drive a souped up foreign car and wasnt too shy and sweet for his own good Id have to think about it haha.
 
if that is his car, it's a Blazer. You can see the Chevy logo on the grille if you pop out the video and pause at 00:14.
 
Serial Killer May Have Attacked in Flint Again on Saturday

(Aug. 11) -- The serial killer on the loose in the Midwest may have attacked a 20th person on Saturday, police in Michigan announced today. They suspect one man of killing five people in Flint, Mich. and stabbing or beating 14 others in Michigan, Virginia and Ohio. Michigan State Police are still investigating whether or not Saturday's stabbing in Flint is related to the others.

On the morning of Aug. 7, Herman Taylor, 49, was stabbed outside of the McLaren Regional Medical Center in Flint, according to the Detroit Free Press. Taylor, who is in critical condition at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor, said his attacker was a white male, six feet tall, muscular, with brown hair &#8211; a description that matches the profile of the serial stabber.

A 59-year-old man in Toledo was also stabbed on Saturday and authorities suspect the multi-state serial killer. But they say that Flint and Toledo are close enough and the time between the attacks long enough that the same person could have attacked both men.

The killer might have help...a victim's story.

He said the attacker resembled the composite drawing of the serial killer released Friday by a law enforcement task force investigating the case, the Flint Journal reported Wednesday. But in a departure from previous accounts of attacks, the man said his attacker hopped into a truck driven by another man.

Maybe there are two of them now. If he realized his truck was on video, then he certainly wouldn't want to drive it right now. I can't imagine that he would happen to have a friend this sick, but odder things have certainly happened.
