GUILTY MI - Paul DeWolf, 25, fatally shot in Ann Arbor frat house, 23 July 2013

I suspect that Franklin ratted out the other two, and perhaps may be charged
with a lesser crime.

In sworn testimony, Nucci said a computer that belonged to a University of Michigan senior was stolen from the living room in her home between 10:30 p.m. July 23 and 12:30 a.m. July 24. That's around the same time frame police say they believe DeWolf was killed in the basement of the Phi Rho Sigma house next door.

So it was a close time frame of 2 hours between the break in and murder. Also more in article about how they tracked the computer to the suspects.

So this is a third break-in! The burglary that we knew about before
was reported to police around 8:30pm. This means that the burglars
were in the neighborhood at least 2 hours. They started before 8:30
and finished after 10:30. I presume that they left after they killed
DeWolf. So the murder was after 10:30pm. DeWolf may have been asleep
because he had to get up early in the morning.

It's scary to think 3 strangers can easily come into your home to steal your laptop and are willing to kill you for it. Such a random crime and no one is safe.

Oh yea. He just meant to hit the victim with a loaded gun during commission of a felony (burglary). I don't think one can claim an "accident" if they kill a victim while committing or attempting to commit a felony (burglary).

I think they can claim it was an accident and the area where the victim was shot appears it might have been accidental but they are still responsible for killing him because it happened during the commission of a crime. jmo

They can claim it was "accidental." Ballistic tests could show how far away the gun was from Paul when Paul was shot. If the suspect was actually trying to hit Paul with a loaded gun, the shot has to be from a close distance. But I don't think it really matters, since Paul was killed during commission of a felony (burglary).

Franklin would be the one who hasn't been charged yet.

“According to Jordan, when they entered into the room, a male subject who was laying in bed got up out of bed and was asking what was going on. Jordan stated that it was at that time that Franklin pulled out a handgun and pointed it at (DeWolf),” Nucci said. “Franklin ordered DeWolf not to move. According to Jordan, at some point DeWolf grabbed something off of his desk and/or drawer and started to move toward Franklin, at which time Franklin raised the gun and attempted to strike DeWolf with the gun, and the gun at that time fired.”

No, it appears Franklin is the one the other two accuse of shooting Paul (while trying to hit Paul with a loaded gun).

From jjenny's article:

Both Jordan and Jones agreed to talk to detectives, Nucci said. Court records show they offered similar accounts of what happened that night.

When asked whether they knew Franklin had a gun, both men said yes and that he always carried one, according to Nucci’s testimony.

All 3 were there all 3 are just as guilty. There are probably waiting to get all the evidence on Franklin before charging him, as he is pretending to be innocent and it looks like he was the shooter.

Looks like the two who have been arrested are telling similar stories and blaming the third for actually killing Paul.
The third one hasn't been arrested and isn't talking.
This article answers a lot of questions people seemed to have-as to why someone would rob an occupied place and as to why someone would hang around after the first robbery.
Apparently the suspects were hanging around the area and kept going into the homes trying to steal more things, despite knowing that these homes were occupied. And they still sold the laptop they took from the neighbor's house (even after Paul's death).

Franklin was arrested, just not for the murder. From the same article:

Franklin was arrested Nov. 6 — the day after Jones and Jordan — on a bond violation stemming from a second-degree home invasion charge. That burglary occurred in May in the 700 block of Arch Street in Ann Arbor.

Wow! What a mastermind!

In the May incident, Franklin allegedly served as a lookout for a friend as they broke into a home for electronics and a wallet so that they could pay rent, Mlive reported.

He used the stolen credit cards at three stores; at a gas station, he used his personal Speedy Rewards card at the same time as the purchase with the stolen credit cards, the police report said.

Wow, a lot of details suddenly. I am happy that two of them confessed,
so it is almost certain that two of them will be convicted. Sure, they say
the third person pulled the trigger "accidentally". Does that really matter?
Even if that is true, aren't Jordan and Jones guilty of murder, perhaps
first degree? Yet, I think it could be possible that Jordan or Jones was the one
who pulled the trigger. Since they know each other better than they know Franklin,
they may have matched their stories to implicate Franklin.

As for Franklin, we don't know if there is evidence, apart from the testimony,
that he actually was in the room. He could have been on the lookout, like in
another burglary.
