The Billings Police Department is investigating whether an unidentified man found dead on the Crow Reservation was killed in an apartment on Industrial Avenue.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and Bureau of Indian Affairs began investigating the homicide after the man's body was found Wednesday in a remote part of the reservation, according to Billings Police Department Lt. Jeremy House.
That investigation indicated that the man could have been killed in an apartment in the "J" complex of the Ponderosa Apartments. Billings police were tipped off around 2:30 p.m. The scene was taped off Tuesday evening and the apartment's windows were covered with a blue tarp.

The remains have been sent to the Federal Bureau of Investigation laboratory for analysis, said William Facer, special agent in public affairs at the FBI in Salt Lake City.
