I was trying to find CP on ancestry, I figured her birth certificate would at least be on there. However I can't find any matches to her name (or slight variations thereof) born on her birthdate in the whole of the US. Is this weird? Or is it that some people just aren't listed on ancestry? I ask because I wondered if maybe her name isn't actually her birth name, maybe born under a different last name and then it was changed by a parent due to relationship breakups etc.

Yes although there is a Cindy Ann Perry born same month, same year but wrong day - from NC. Although I guess we don't actually know that she was born in NC do we...

What if you remove the state?
 
Although I do see a resemblance, I see a much larger space between Cynthia's eyes and eyebrow line and LEK's eyes and eyebrow line. CP's eyebrows look like they may be tweezed a bit, but I don't see that accounting for that much of a difference.

Also CP's teeth look quite a bit different - more uneven in length than Lori's do.

ETA: OTOH, in Cynthia's picture, she is smiling so broadly that it may be pulling her forehead up a bit more than it would usually look, stretching the space above her eyes.

If I search females with the last name Perry born on that DOB in all of the US, I get two women with that last name but neither with anything like similar first or middle names to Cynthia. Both were born in Virginia.

If I search Cynthia (any last name) with that DOB in all of the US I get a few matches and a couple even in NC. But none are Cynthia Lorraine or anything close to that, and none seem to have a parent with the name Perry.

So I guess I am wondering if a) not all birth certificates are on ancestry or b) her name wasn't Cynthia when she was born.

Sounds like not all birth certificates are on ancestry. Best suggestion I have is go to city-data's forum to ask
 
What do you all think about these as possible matches for Cynthia?

I have submitted Cynthia as a possible match for this Passaic County NJ Jane Doe https://www.identifyus.org/en/cases/1717

There is not a lot of information for the Jane Doe, however what information is there does match up with Cynthia:
- Age: Jane Doe 20-30 yrs in 1985-1990, Cynthia would have been between 17 and 22 in those years
- Race: both women are white
- Cynthia was last seen June 17 1985, estimated death of Jane Doe was 1985-1990
- Cynthia last seen Wake County NC which is some way from Passaic County but there is a relatively direct route via highways which is not unreasonable had she hitchhiked with a trucker or similar. Jane Doe was found off Galesi Drive which is very close to the freeway on/off ramps, and also relatively close to the transit centre had Cynthia been on a bus etc.
 
Bumping. Anyone come across a Jane Doe with a heart tattoo on upper left arm?
 
Please tell me straight - anyone see a similarity between Cynthia and this woman on the left? Thanks

As of the 21st, Lori has been missing for 35 years now. Her updated Charley Project page: Cynthia Lorraine Perry – The Charley Project. Possibly Ridgeway Jane Doe The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)? She was found in Ridgeway, SC (approximately 221 miles from Raleigh, NC) on 29 August 1991. It is believed that she was 18-30 years old, about 5'6" tall, and had a likely PMI of 5-10 years prior to discovery. Thread: SC - SC - Fairfield Co, WhtFem, 18-30, Ring w/Red Stone, In Sawdust Pile, Ridgeway, Aug'91, PMI 10 Yrs.

There is so little info on cynthias case - I think you should submit this. There’s no reason it couldn’t be her.
