NJ NJ - Brick Twp, Old Toms River Rd, UnkRace/Sex 18-99, UP14935, skull, Mar'16

I thought about that KaylaraOwl but that storm was more than 3 years ago. You'd think someone would have found it sooner especially since a passenger in a moving vehicle was able to see it.
Well, a lot of the roads around here have a truly awful amount of trash on them. It's possible that other people saw it but didn't register what it was. I'm sure no one is driving down the road expecting to find a human skull. Maybe a deer skull, or even one of those puff ball mushrooms, or an old soccer ball, maybe.

It could have possibly washed in with Hurricane Sandy. A lot of Brick twp. was flooded, but I don't know if that specific area was.

I have family that lived right around the area where the skull was found. It def wasn't washed in from Hurricane Sandy the water never made that far inland. I wouldn't be surprised if rain may of eroded the soil where the skull was found. Very interested to see what happens to this case.

Thanks for joining in.

Hope they find out who it was soon.

Sad the area has become such a garbage dump. Within my lifetime the township went from sparsely populated to the 13th largest community in the entire State of NJ.

My grandmother moved down there in the 1970's when the first wave of retirement communities were being built and if she were still around she'd be appalled at that amount of garbage being strewn around.

Wow, I have to say that's a lot of rule outs for such a small amount of remains with no estimated time of death, race, age or gender.

As of right now it's up to 55 rule outs, presumably those were excluded based upon dentals.

Jamie Seymour isn't on that list yet, and she's missing from the area.

I hope that they get DNA on it, and maybe a facial reconstruction. It would help in id'ing it, I think.

In my experience, New Jersey has always been slow in listing rule outs on NAMUS. It looks like this case is getting attention.

I'm glad that they are listing the rule outs asap. It makes it clear that they are working on it, at least.

Based on Carl's suggestion that it may be an Asian male, here is a list of Asian males missing in NJ.
https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/32447/9 John Fernandez

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/26275/8 Hans Lee

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/30505/7 Norman Chin

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/24999/6 Hao Dong

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/19048/4 Eric Yoon

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/5571/2 Christopher Oh

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/31587/1 Xuan Cao

The closest geographically are John Fernandez and Norman Chin. Given the state of the skull, I think Norman is the better candidate.

Ya gotta love the typical Jersey comments after that article.

Around here (I can’t vouch for the rest of the country), the people who spend their days looking to comment on these internet stories are typically low brow types who just want to inflame or incite.

Sad really

Yeah, I try not to read the comments. I may see if Norman has been checked against this uid.

I'm confused. Why wouldn't they list John Doe as being Asian on his NamUs if they're pretty sure that he's Asian?

The probably just haven't updated his namus profile.
