Not to throw a tub full of cold water on the Jason Shane Blevins angle but several things need to be pointed out:

1. The person who wrote the response didn't even spell Steven's last name correctly. He/she spelled the other names correctly, but not Steven's, despite his full name being in the title of the post.

2. After a look-see at ussearch.com and a couple other sites, there's no record of Jason Shane Blevins ever living in Utah. That would be the only way he would know Steven since Steven never lived anywhere else but in Utah. Yes, there is one Barbara Burch in Utah but that isn't an uncommon name. So, I'm not sure how they would be able to call Steven a good friend.

3. The writer claims he/she had comps to a hotel. As someone who lived in Vegas for over 13 years, this sounds like something an out-of-towner would say who's trying to sound like an LV resident. For the record: citizens of Southern NV don't have comps just lying around for themselves or others to use. They may get some free tickets to some shows if they know someone inside the entertainment industry, but that's it. And employees of hotels don't get comps for rooms either--these days they're lucky to have an employee dining room.

4. The writer says he got all sorts of info about Jason and Barbara over those two weeks, even ex-girlfriends? I mean, really? So, on one hand the writer admits the two are con artists but on the other hand the writer believes they gave him accurate info?

I could go on but I think the whole thing smells of some troll. Furthermore, that the writer hasn't appeared on that blog again since 2012 tells you all you need to know.

ITA that the whole situation started in Utah. ITA he didn't come to this neighborhood to disappear. So......I think he was set up. JMO

Now that I'm kind of back into this case I think I've forgotten that there is a VERY popular opinion out there that the man in the video isn't Steven at all. Are any people who believe that frequenting this thread now? I'm not looking for an argument at all. I guess I'm more wondering what your theory of the crime is. So, something happened to Steven after his last phone call but before his car is seen on the video at 11:54am.

Was it a carjacking? Was it a meeting gone wrong at another location, and not one on Evening Lights St.?

I really would like to hear about this different theory because it's one I've totally dismissed to this point. Not saying I'm going to change my mind. But I'd like to hear the other side.

One more thing . . . can I just say for the record that it drives me nuts that all those people called Steven and not one of them asked why he was in Las Vegas? Here, they were expecting him to be at a couple different appointments that day, and when he says he can't make it because he's in Las Vegas, they kind of just accept it. I mean, if one of my friends who I'm expecting to see tells me he's in Miami, when I expect to see him in Tampa, I'm gonna ask: What are you doing in Miami? Maybe I just like to be up in everybody else's business . . .

A)The author never said Jason or Barbara were from Utah, she said she met them in a casino in Vegas, she didn’t say where Steven met them.
B) If you google Jason’s name you will see that he has lived in Texas and possibly Ohio (he has relatives there). He is indeed a known criminal. There is a Barbara Burch also from the same area in Texas, so it’s not a huge reach to think these two may have known each other/were traveling together.
C) As far as hotel comps go, my brother and sister-in-law are regulars at a casino (they spend lots of money there) and they have gotten endless hotel comps, I used one last time I was down there visiting them.

Not trying to argue, just saying sometimes stories are so crazy they turn out to be true…

. . . but there are still the issues of the author misspelling Steven's last name. And the issue of the author claiming the two are con artists but at the same time seemingly believing every word they said. Lastly, the author writing once and never coming back to the site.

SassyBenton, if you're on here, I know you're a passionate amateur investigator like the rest of us are. Don't those points raise issues with you? Don't red flags go off all over the place?

I know we are all desperate for new information regarding Steven and his disappearance. But we can't stop looking at new clues objectively. That comment on that site was a troll. In fact, it's almost a textbook case of a troll--misspellings, wild allegations, commenting once then disappearing, acting like they have an inside track on the story, etc. If that person commented here, he/she would be kicked off in about an hour. And we all know it.

Hi everyone, I'm new and was made aware about this case through a message regarding a possible drug courier connection while following the McStay case on another blog. I believe it was Aimee from this forum? Anyways...I'm currently reading through the threads which seems to be a rather extensive endeavor as you all know. While I still have a lot to read and might not have seen all the available information yet I have a question. Is there a map available showing the exact areas that have been searched so far?
If there is anything we have learned from the McStay case (assuming that they arrested the right person), it's that the last contact should not be underestimated. Obviously that is not the case every single time but it's a gut feeling if you will. Was a confirmed dob ever given for JRZ? How about for GW?

I just saw the Disappeared rerun. Why did Koecher leave a job (fired ?) and go to a depressed small town where he had no ties ( or did he ?). Those programs don't reveal a lot of important details, so one has to speculate. Was he leading a double life through the internet ? Did he schedule a liaison of some sort with an someone in Henderson ? If that were the case such individual might have instructed Kocher to park the car away from the house in question. I think something went tragically wrong at that meeting, based on what I have available.
Thoughts ?

I'm not familiar with it, is there an article about it ? What was this group ?
