Presumed Located NV - Trevor Morse, 30, Las Vegas, 6 May 2007

It does say he often wore a Ford Mustang ball cap. Doesn't say anything about tattoos.

Where did I see a mention of Red Rock? I can't remember. But I wonder if it meant Red Rock Canyon - which is a recreational area, or Red Rock the casino/resort. No reason for anyone to go to the canyon at night. But the casino would make sense. If that's where he went, he most definitely would have been on camera again later that night. I wonder if LE ever checked there???

I kind of think he just had a big wad of cash on him because he was meeting somebody to go to the casinos, and took the gun for protection in case he was robbed.

I was only in Vegas once. Do they even allow weapons in the casinos? I know it is the wild west but I would think that weapons and all that cash inside of casinos do not mix.

The tattoos could be hold back info. I can call LE unless someone has already....

Well, that's just my point - it's NOT the wild west. There are no metal detectors in the casinos, so there's nothing stopping anyone from carrying - there or anywhere else. I know plenty of people who legally own firearms - but they generally don't carry them on their person just going about their daily business.

I need to do some more homework on this case. I'll also check the gambling angle on Monday.

Didn't the person who thought they saw Steven at the IHOP say he had all kinds of tats - and numbers on his neck? I'm no expert on tattoos, but isn't that sort of a gangbanger kind of thing?

Tattoos can mean anything. Some people just like the look, sometimes they have specific meanings, some might be gang. Hard to tell absent an actual photo of the ink job.

Dunno. I guess I was thinking that he'd leave it in the car while he went inside -- most of the casinos are pretty safe, I think.

We don't actually know that Trevor had a large amount of cash with him ; he must have taken enough to pay for a cab back, though. We also don't know if he was carrying his gun that night. His gun had been registered, that is why there was some thought that he had it with him ( it was not found with his other things)He could have sold it,or lent it to someone at some point.. We don't know if he was going to a casino either. Webrocket wondered if he was gay ; I don't know, but he didn't seem to have any girlfriends hanging around.

hi guys....just been reading through this one ...........straight away I thought it all very suss.......though I noticed the police did not suspect foul play......if he bought a gun and left his wallet, drivers licence etc at home and only took cash it would make me think something very suspicious was going to take place or as someone said before it was a someone he didnt know very well and didnt trust and thought he might be robbed......re the not taking the wallet, the last thing you want is to have to get cards and licences again.......

what I find strange is that he didnt take his phone.....if you thought you might be in danger etc the phone is one thing that people take everywhere for that security......what do you all think the reason is for this????

I am thinking he owed someone money or maybe buying drugs..........and I think who ever picked him up, did him in and he is buried in the desert somewhere.......

a thought come to mind...maybe he was selling the gun

I think he had owned the gun for a while ; I never read that he had just bought it He was from Texas, and carrying a gun is a common thing there. I agree, leaving his phone at home is weird, can't imagine why he would do that.Come to think of it, he must not have been planning to take a cab back home ; how could he have called a cab ? So, how would he get home ? Don't know about him buying drugs ... but in his pictures he looks healthy and fit. And,why would he go all the way out to the foothills to meet someone who would sell him drugs ? It's not like drugs are hard to find in any major city. It doesn't add up at all. I'm starting to think he was meeting someone like this because he didn't want to be seen with them anywhere near his home. Maybe he wasn't all the way "out" ? I don't know how being gay would be for a construction electrician..... The only other thing happening at that point in Trevor's life was that he was planning on going back home to El Paso. But, people leave Vegas all the time....

He also has a father who loves and cares for him very much-who has reached out in every way he knows how to find his child. Regardless of what put this guy where ever he ended up, I would love to see some energy returned to this case so that his father will know his beloved son was NOT forgotten and discarded.

I'm leaning that way too. I can see him taking a cab instead of driving himself if he were going out to party, but he would have needed his ID. And his cell phone.

Do we know what time of night it was and what day of the week?

IIRC it was neck and leg. Numeric tattoos which are very trendy and common right now...think Johnny Depp and Rhianna. Gangbangers and prison folk do spiderwebs and black tears as well...at least that I have read about. It is tough to tell these days because so many people have body art for many different reasons! One of the articles I was reading on numeric tattoos was indicating folks have had their tattoos CUT OFF them for inadvertently recreating gang stuff....YIKES.

When my son goes out to the casinos, he generally takes a certain amount of cash, minimal ID, and no credit cards. So he doesn't have the temptation of maxing out his cards on a losing binge *g*

But no gun as far as I know.

And it's true we don't know whether Trevor had that gun. Yes, just speculating.

I thought we knew he was going to a casino, the Red Rock -- but apparently there's another place by that name, too.

ID for the cab? Really?? wow. Or ID for the party?

Fairy,
Trevor vanished on Sunday afternoon, around 3pm. Steven Koecher was also last seen on a Sunday afternoon. Just saying ... That morning was very uneventful for Trevor, he did his laundry and paid some household bills. Then called a cab.

For the record : Trevor was last seen in the Red Rocks Canyon area, a place familiar to hikers and rock climbers, at the far western edge of the Vegas valley. He was waiting for someone at the edge of a shopping mall there, and was picked up on a store's video camera. When he seemed to see the person he was waiting for, he started walking towards them out in the direction of the desert/rock formations, and off the camera's range.. He never indicated to the cab driver,or anyone else that he was going to any casino that night....

I don't know why he would take a cab downtown if his destinaton was Red Rocks Canyon.

Does anyone know how he was dressed? If he was neatly dressed then I doubt he was going for a hike.

Thanks for clarifying that. I had assumed it was the casino of the same name.

I assume the friend is not also missing?
