GUILTY NY - 30 injured in Manhattan bombing, 17 Sept 2016 *Ahmad Khan Rahimi arrested*

Wireless Emergency Alerts Changed By FCC After Ahmed Rahami Texts

The updated rules will:

 Increase the maximum length of WEA messages (from 90 to 360 characters) for 4G LTE and future networks;
 Require participating wireless providers to support inclusion of embedded phone numbers and URLs in all WEA alerts, including WEA AMBER alerts, which will enable the public to click to see a photo or to call authorities;
 Require participating wireless providers to deliver the alerts to more granular geographic areas;
 Create a new class of alerts (“Public Safety Messages”) to convey essential, recommended actions that can save lives or property (e.g. emergency shelter locations or a boil water order);
 Require participating wireless providers to support transmission of Spanish-language alerts; and
 Make it easier for state and local authorities to test WEA, train personnel, and raise public awareness about the service.

You have a habit of finding great info surrounding cases. Glad you are here on this one.

Fbi is at the home in Elizabeth with a search warrant and raiding the house right now.

I don't think he was alone either.

If AKR was so secretive about what he was doing, according to family members, how could family insist he did this alone?

They did but seems like they were looking for something specific in the yard.

From the link:

"The FBI had been on the scene for days at the Rahami family home.

But Friday afternoon, they returned and they forced their way into the home.....

Another part of the investigation that they have been working on is allegedly showing Rahami exploding the devices in the backyard.

Several of FBI agents could be seen coming from the backyard, most of them a wearing plastic protective covering."

One of the reports on the radio mentioned that he buried something in the backyard. I wonder if its related to this new search.

"Egyptian airline employees wanted for questioning were not involved in Chelsea bombing: officials"

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nat...part-chelsea-bomb-officials-article-1.2813650

"The two Egyptian airline employees who were seen on surveillance video picking up an undetonated bomb in Manhattan earlier this month had no part in a terror attack that injured dozens and triggered terrorism fears across the nation, officials said Friday....

Ali and Radwan had reportedly traveled to New York as onboard security guards and flew back to Egypt the day after suspected terrorist Ahmad Khan Rahami planted several bombs across Manhattan and New Jersey....

The clueless crew members did not realize the significance of their street find until they were back in Egypt and reporters began calling the airline company."

I still find it odd that although they may not have been involved with the bombings, they opened the white trash bag and looked inside. As pilots of a major airline, they should know what various bombs look like. Why did they not call 911?

They appear to be in-flight unarmed security officers for Egypt Air, not pilots.

When they saw it was a "pot", one of the security officers did not want to go through the trouble of flying the pot home.

<snip>

“He opened the bag to check it out and found a pot.”

Mr. [A] did not want to go to the trouble of flying the pot back to Cairo, the official said, so he put it aside and left with the travel bag.

...The two men told friends and colleagues that they had not read the news or realized the significance of their find until Egyptian reporters started calling EgyptAir, the officials said.

US officials have not interviewed them yet according to NYT and NYDN articles.

...yeah, okayyyy.

"These guys are harmless; they would be useless in a fist fight," another airline official said. "They cannot be in any way involved. They are shocked and scared now. Radwan is especially scared. The poor guy is always anxious."

they are in-flight security guards. WTF!

yeah, okayyyyyy...

then it goes on...

Abou Bakr Radwan's Facebook profile says he lives in Cairo and works as an "in-flight security officer." His last public post — a video of a man urging people not to associate Islam with terrorism — came a day before the Chelsea bombing.

Even more okayyyyy: the Facebook post was a share of another post from 2015. Did he go looking for it?

And it's in Russian!

Hmmmmm.

Was just coming here to post about how they would be useless in a fist fight....but....then how are they in flight security guards???? That's almost equivalent to an US Air marshall.....I'd hate to be on a flight with someone on there who's job is to protect me, yet can't fight in a fist fight.............
