A Washington Heights woman testified Tuesday at the trial of the undercover cop accused of taking part in biker gang beatdown said the assault she witnessed from her third-floor apartment was relentless.

“It was abusive. It was a massacre,” said Ana Luisa Emiliano-Vega, through a Spanish interpreter, referring to the bloody attack on 35-year-old Tribeca dad Alexian Lien.

The police handler for the undercover NYPD detective accused in the gang assault on an SUV driver testified in the cop’s trial Thursday...

He testified that the day before the motorcycle rally that ended in the gang assault on Alexian Lien, Detective Wojciech Braszczok sent him a text message with the subject “mayhem.” When the handler asked him what he meant, Braszczok replied that a thousand bikers were riding around the five boroughs, running red lights and performing tricks.

The handler testified that it was three days after the September 2013 assault before Braszczok came clean — sort of — admitting that he was there but didn’t see the assault. Videos recorded at the scene seem to suggest otherwise.

Undercover Cop Cleared of Top Counts in Biker Melee, SUV Attack, Convicted of Lesser Charges. Braszckzok and his co-defendent, Robert Sims, will be sentenced on August 5 and 6. Braszczok faces a maximum sentence of seven years, and Sims between five and 15 years.

A judge delivered the verdict Tuesday in the bench trial of detective Wojciech Braszczok, finding him not guilty of gang assault, attempted gang assault and first-degree assault, but guilty of second- and third-degree assault, coercion, riot and criminal mischief in the September 2013 attack on SUV driver Alexian Lien.

Braszczok's co-defendant, Robert Sims, was also convicted of the lower counts but acquitted of the top charges in the motorcycle rally that devolved into pandemonium and became a highway horror story to millions who saw a helmet-camera video posted online.

Thanks Snoods.

I'm really disappointed in the judge's verdict of not guilty on the top charges.

Yup, me too, wendiesan. I guess his strategy of going for a trial by judge and not jury worked out for him. At least he was convicted of something, though.

Thanks Snoods.
Since the bikercop is now showing his face, my guess is there will be no real punishment attached to those lesser charges. ie, he doesn't seem worried that he'll have to face any of the men he put away in his role as a police officer. So, no probably no jail time.
My hope is that the victims have a pitbull lawyer who can't wait to get the civil trial started.

From August:

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/08/07/nyregion/final-biker-is-sentenced-in-assault-on-suv-driver.html

A state judge sentenced the last of the motorcyclists convicted of attacking a driver in Upper Manhattan to three and a half years in prison on Thursday after the defendant gave a tearful apology in court.

The defendant, Robert Sims, 37, a Brooklyn electrician, said he had lost control when he and several other bikers dragged Alexian Lien from his Range Rover on 178th Street near Wadsworth Avenue and beat him in front of his wife, Rosalyn Ng, and their 2-year-old daughter.
