Narrow the search to Oklahoma County, case number: CF-2009-6317

Note the massive number of motions filed by his attorney on January 13th.

I can't believe it's taking so long to get this to trial.

a 2nd arrest has been made in this case:
(as far as i can tell, Brooke is no relation to this suspect)

Police in Tulsa, Oklahoma shot Denny Edward Phillips on Monday after he pointed a gun at them. He was arrested on federal weapons charges but has now also been identified as a “person of interest” in the fire in which blonde Brooke and and three others - Mark Barrientos, Jennifer Ermey and Milagrous Barrera — were all found dead last November.

Brooke had been shot and stabbed before the building was set ablaze.

Another man, David Allen Tyner, has previously been arraigned in connection with the murders. Tyner is allegedly a member of a Native American gang called the Native Brotherhood.

It was not immediately clear when Denny Edward Phillips, who is hospitalized in serious condition, might appear in court or if he had an attorney.

Phillips pleaded guilty in 2010 to federal charges of illegally possessing firearms and ammunition and was sentenced in January, 2012 to six years and five months in prison. He has not been charged in the murders, however.

New details reveal what led investigators to two new suspects in the so-called "Cathouse" murders...

US Marshals arrested Russell Hogshooter and Jonathan Cochran Wednesday. However, back in July Oklahoma City Police detectives traveled to a correctional facility in Maryland and spoke with a man named David Tyner by his request.

Tyner is serving a life sentence for the deaths in this case, and another man, Denny Phillips, is awaiting trial.

“When Tyner came back into the house, he saw that Hogshooter and ‘John’ were holding bloody knives,” the detective wrote in the affidavits. “Tyner then went into a front room where he found Brooke Phillips lying on the floor. She was bleeding from her head and neck... He was confronted by Hogshooter, who told him to get into the car. ‘John’ and Tyner got into the car, and Hogshooter poured gas into the house and lit it on fire.”

The detective also wrote, “Tyner said the three of them drove to an area past Shawnee where ‘John’ and Hogshooter buried their pistols and burned their clothing. They drove to Phillips’ house in Pryor, where they went their separate ways.”

Extra security has been ordered for the jury trial of the two remaining men charged in the "Cathouse" murder case.

No bags of any kind will be allowed in the Oklahoma County courtroom during the trial, which begins Monday with jury selection...

Denny Edward Phillips, 38, of Salina, and Russell Lee Hogshooter, 38, of Oklahoma City, are charged with six counts of first-degree murder and one count of conspiracy. The two ex-convicts are facing the death penalty if convicted in the brutal killings of an Oklahoma City drug dealer and three women.

Prosecutors opened their case Friday against the two remaining men charged in the “Cathouse” slayings by telling the jurors the victims were killed "in the most horrific of ways.

“They were hit. They were cut. They were stabbed. They were shot. And their bodies were set on fire,” Assistant District Attorney Merydith Easter said during opening statements...

Tyner began testifying for prosecutors Friday. He told the jury he didn't know about the plan to rob and kill Barrientos until he arrived in Oklahoma City with the men.

Tyner testified Denny Phillips threatened to kill his family if the plan wasn't executed.

Tyner said he shot Barrientos, Barrera and Ermey. He said he didn't shoot Brooke Phillips. Prosecutors say Hogshooter killed Brooke Phillips and set the bodies and house on fire after the killings.

Five years after the 2009 “Cathouse” slayings, Jonathan Allen Cochran was arrested in the infamous killings that, he testified, “kept me up at nights.”

“I'd been trying to get it out of my mind for the past five years,” Cochran told an Oklahoma County jury Tuesday.

Cochran testified Monday and Tuesday at the trial of the two remaining men charged with the slayings of a drug dealer and three women.
