OK OK - Peggy McGuire, 28, Eufaula, 16 Nov 2015

There is a clip from the surveillance video here: http://www.kjrh.com/news/local-news/family-of-missing-eufaula-woman-continue-to-search-for-clues

"The young mother and nurse was last seen by her live-in boyfriend on Monday, after she dropped the couple's 8-year-old son off at school.

At 5:20 the following morning, someone was captured on video leaving McQuire’s truck at a rural bar called T&J's Ice House. A dark figure can be seen walking away from the truck in midst of violent storm."

Since he hasn't been listed as a suspect, we can't paint him to look like one. If he speaks in public, we can discuss what he says there. If he is mentioned in news stories, we can discuss those. (I am going over the rules as a reminder here so I don't get in trouble again. lol) We can only say he possibly saw her after she dropped off their son and it could be he was the last one to see her (at least no one has said they saw her after that time to my knowledge). There was some confusion about the casino sightings of her, but I believe they were determined to have been the day (weekend) prior to her going missing.

I am confused about her son's school being in Canadian while she lived in Stidham. Could someone explain this to me?

"As the search continues for missing woman, 28-year-old Peggy McGuire, officials of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are now processing evidence in the case.

...Crews are also processing information gathered at a crime scene from the case, however they could not disclose the location.

A man is believed to be the driver (of her truck at the tavern).

Two companies that know McGuire are teaming together to offer a reward of $17,500 for her safe return home."

I wonder where this crime scene is? Is it her truck/or t&j's or some where else entirely?

Interesting. Her truck was mentioned separately from processing a "crime scene". I wonder if the photo quickly taken down from the group page really did hold some clues. It was taken at the Bunny creek area according to the poster.

If her BF said he saw her after she dropped their son off at school then why are they still reporting she was last seen at the school? Shouldn't they revise the posters and what LE is putting out there if they believe him? Doesn't that give them a starting point, too? Where was she when he last saw her?

I don't know her personally, but being local, I can say there are many people I know that have their children in some of the smaller schools, academic reasons, sports, negative experience somewhere else, closer to family that helps, etc.. Could be many reasons. It's only about 20 miles from stidham and only 10 miles or so, all highway, from Eufaula where she works. I know people that drive their kids 30+ miles to schools outside their district. My own kids have never went to a school within our district. I drive them about 12 miles to school, so that's not uncommon for this area. Some of our better schools are the smaller more rural ones.

I think that is the last confirmed sighting of her because of the surveillance cameras. They have never reported again on the fact that there was another person in the truck with her at the school. Could have been him? They never released that video so i don't know quality or if they could even identify someone from that. Her stepfather talked to her on the phone around 10 a.m. Monday after she dropped the son off. According to news report. There are many different ones posted on the fb page. But they all differ somewhat. Only one I saw said the bf was last to see her. And other things on different ones. I do know the McIntosh county sheriff's department said they haven't done any searches because they didn't have a suspect or evidence?? One of the news outlets put them on blast for that statement. But now that osbi is involved, hopefully things will go quicker.

When she dropped off her son at school, did she get out of her truck and walk him to the door?

If she was on video and walked him to the door, then they would know the clothing that she was wearing.
Does anybody know specifically what clothing and shoes she was wearing?

Who picked up her son from school?
They must have had emergency contacts when she didn't show up?
Is her son staying with family? Or boy friend?

Hey Folks,

If the BF hasn't been named a POI/Suspect, he's off limits. Please don't sleuth him and bring the info here.

Thank you for the notification. I'm not trying to break the rules, just trying to help. I'll try this one again.

Based on interviews thus far, I think the family probably knows what happened and who is involved, but before the public is notified, LE must do their due diligence.

Just take a look at this sentence from this morning's ktul.com article [1].

"We're searching areas we think people would hide her, or people would want to get rid of her or something. We don't have any leads, we don't know. We're just searching areas around her house," said Kuhnel.

It has only been a week and based on the language, it sounds like they believe foul play was involved.

The news report said the family knew something was wrong that Monday evening, calls unanswered, etc but they have to wait 48 hours to file missing person report on an adult.

Why would they have to wait 48 hours to report a person missing?
It is my understanding that waiting 48 hours is a fallacy.

"There is no waiting period. Many shows and movies have publicized the 24 or 48 hour waiting period to report missing people but that doesn't exist in real police offices. As soon as you know an adult or child is missing, report it to police."

yeah, that waiting 48 hours thing went by the wayside a long time ago IIRC. Can you imagine if that were still the case? yikes.

Unfortunately, many local LE officers discourage people from making a formal report the first day or two in cases of missing adults. They use the "He/she is an adult and has a right to disappear if they want" argument and instruct the person trying to make the report to wait a few days. It's pretty common with adults and also done with runaway teens.

Does she have custody of her son?

To me, it is wasting PRECIOUS TIME, if LE told her family NOT to file a police report for 48 hours.
Peggy is a mom and if she has custody of her son why would LE discourage a police report to be filed?
That seems like negligence in my opinion, to discourage a police report.
I don't understand that thinking at all.
Sure adults have a right to disappear if they want, but who is to pick and choose who might leave on their own and who might not, so therefore discourage a police report being taken immediately?
Waiting 48 hours is a DETRIMENT in my opinion.
The SOONER a person is reported Missing, the sooner paperwork can be handled, in my opinion.

I found this particular link for the state of Texas.
I haven't found a link yet for the state of Oklahoma.

"Under Texas law, people may report missing persons to an authorized local law enforcement officer in person, by telephone, or on a report form (Tex. Code Ann. § 63.004). There is no required waiting period to make the reports. The Department of Public Safety issues a standard report form, which is available at its website.

Once a local law enforcement agency receives a report, it must begin its investigation with due diligence. However, if the person is a child in danger, or an adult suffering from Alzheimer's or dementia, it must begin its investigation immediately (Tex. Code Ann. § 63.009(a)(1))."

https://www.cga.ct.gov/2007/rpt/2007-R-0058.htm

This seems like a good law to me.
