One year later ~ The Oregonian articles

I can't believe that it's been just a few days shy of a full year that Kyron has been missing.

It makes me so sad.

I suspect they thought he might have wandered off because Terri told them he was having those alleged "spells." IMO, she purposely misdirected LE and the searchers from the start.

I have never read anywhere that Terri told investigators about Kyron's supposed spells of inattention/spaciness although she could have. I believe this information was discovered in an email that Terri sent to someone.

I remember thinking he possibly went to search for red-eye tree frogs and was lost in the woods. )-;

I don't think anything she told the investigators has been made public.

Checking to see if there is any more "news" on Kyron ...

I remember the first time I saw Kyron's photo on the national news and that he was missing from his school. It was so heartbreaking to hear about this adorable little boy who was missing and it was so heartbreaking to hear his Mother and Father talk about what happened ...

Even though I am thousands of miles away, I try to keep up as much as I can to see if there is any news on Kyron.

I am glad to see that Kyron is being kept in the news, and hopefully, his name and story will be in the news until Kyron is found ! I just cannot believe it has been one year now !

:praying::praying:

Praying that Kyron is found soon, as well as Prayers for his Mother Desiree, Tony, and his Father Kaine.

There was a small story on the "war room" again last night (KPTV) but it was much of the same information.
I have to look and see which station but at least one of them is running a bigger special on June 4th.

ETA: Found it, it will be on Saturday at 6:30pm on KATU. http://www.katu.com/news/local/122554994.html

What I am saying if is LE had proof, there would be an arrest, in my opinion. I am not saying LE does not have "anything."

I no longer really believe that's true, that they arrest as soon as they have proof. I've read too many inside-the-investigation books written after trials and convictions that detail the sheer volume of proof LE sat on while waiting for one specific piece of evidence they wanted for a trial. Usually this evidence is the body, absent a messy or telling crime scene. So I'd say that it's entirely possible Desiree (and perhaps Kaine, and LE) believe they found proof in Terri's emails that as DY said, shows that Terri was capable of harming a child and either intending to or wanting to harm Kyron. What they want for an arrest and trial IMO is proof of murder rather than kidnap and/or endangerment.

We don't know what she told to LE or turned over to them, but she was free with the information to her friends and I believe to the school as well, so it's likely it wasn't something unknown to the school on the day he disappeared. I never thought about it before, but I think gwenabob is probably on the money about Terri's words directing or just nudging the 'search for a wandering child' in the beginning.

I agree that LE probably has plenty that shows TH had a motive to commit a crime against Kyron. But what the crime is and proving she actually did commit it are sticking points, especially if he is never found.

I mean does anyone on this planet think Drew Peterson did not kill his wife Stacy however many years ago? And yet we just have to hope, probably, that he gets locked up for killing a prior wife. Not to mention Josh Powell and his stellar story of what happened to Susan.

If Kyron can't be found, this case may remain in the same sort of holding pattern. It doesn't mean TH didn't do it, but LE may be a long way from proving it.

Here's something I hadn't read before:
Young said Terri Horman told her something chilling after failing her first polygraph test.

“I was sitting in the recliner in the living room and she leaned over the chair and said, 'I want you to know, I loved your son.’ And I flipped out. I told Tony, ‘You better get me out of this house or I'm going to kill her,” Young said.

WOW....past tense even???? That would have made me pretty intense too. I still can't believe this case has not been solved yet. Child disappears from a crowded school on a Friday in June. Too sad.

I wonder if all of the talk about Kyron being "stashed" was just desperate wishful thinking, even then?

If TH used the past tense that first weekend, or first few days, that is far too soon for it to be considered any sort of a "normal" slip-up.

Wow! That is very interesting! Thank you for pointing that out.

There is also this: Young admits she drives through Roseburg to keep an eye on Terri Horman, and has even held candlelight vigils in front of the home.

To me she is stalking Terri although it was decided here she was not. I have problems believing Desiree and with her saying Terri said this or that. How do we really know what was said. DY could have changed the text as she repeated this. MOO

I think it's highly possible Terri said, "I love your son," and Desiree now remembers it as being "loved" (past tense). Try saying it out loud. Depending on how fast you say the words, "love" and "loved" could be easily mixed.

I'm not saying I don't think Terri is guilty of killing Kyron. I am saying that, in my opinion, every memory Desiree has of Terri will be skewed because of her belief that Terri hurt Kyron and that could result in things being remembered incorrectly.

"I loved him" and "I love him" sound very alike. When you're having a conversation with someone, do you really pay attention to the verb tenses they use? It wasn't like Terri gave an interview where we can rewind it, and make sure, it was something that Desiree heard once. The emails that Terri sent can be proven one day, but a quote can't.

Chiming in: I think this quote from Desiree shows more insight into how the "family" was in the early days. "‘You better get me out of this house or I'm going to kill her,” Young said."

I think it doesn't matter who ends up being the culprit here in Kyron's disappearance Desiree will always point the finger at Terri. MOO
