Deceased/Not Found PA - Karen, 11, & Michael Reinert, 10, Ardmore, 22 June 1979 *W. Bradfield guilty*

That picture of the stone looks like it was taken in Waterloo Village NJ
I looked at the picture and it reminded me of it .

I went on a class trip there in April with one of my kids. Its an old Lenape Indian site were they used to live and they have it set up back in the woods as if you were back in time .

Heres the website

http://www.waterloovillage.org/lenape_village.aspx

Its like a half hour to PA, not even.

Has anyone sharpened and zoomed in on this picture? Theres a plant thats red on the right, its a Jack in the Pulpit heres a link to what it looks like and a description of where it grows , its found in moist soil.
http://2bnthewild.com/plants/H46.htm

weird about the crystals ....

Also it looks like someone is on the right behind the leaves wearing all black and a hood I can make out a face it has nostrils.

That last thing the stone up cose looks like a witch face with a hood or rag draped over the head.

This picture had to be taken very near a water source like a stream or pond
becasue of the plants in the picture . Jack in the Pulpits are rare. Its not your average plant in the woods , the conditions must be right. I used to see these all the time as a kid in the woods I played near the streams and lake with my friends and we loved those plants , thats why I spotted it in the pic.

I have seen this picture before but I never zoomed in and sharpened it before.

if you look up at the right you can see alot of light , it could be a body of water , it has to be for the plant life near it. weird , this guy was into satanic worship . Alot of that went on off Clinton road in New Jersey , so did alot of other things ,alot was true , alot was folklore.

This is what I am noticing that stood out when I blew it up .

^^For some reason I can't view your pictures :(

Just and FYI: The "attachment" feature does not work here at WS. If you want to display pics, you have to upload them to a website and share the link....

Ihadcabinfever,

Please post those picks if you can...very interesting. I would appear that Jackin the Pulpits are found all along the eastern seaboard.

One could always post a pick at photobucket (which is free) and then post a link to the pic. (Photobucket shows you the actual link address when you post your image there and that is handy when you need that to be able to post in websleuths.) Here is a link to find their website.

I dont know if it is still ongoing speculation about whether a coroner would be able to tell if an acid was used to accelerate decomposition or not. The answer is yes. Strong acids all leave tale tell signs on bone. I believe one acid that was mentioned was nitric acid (the principal had it in his car). Nitric acid when it comes in contact with bone, turns the bone a yellowish color. All acids increase the solubility of calcium, which is what makes bones strong. So the weaker acids cause color change while the stronger acids tend to make bone become weak like a wet noodle. If this info has already been covered and I missed it, sorry

edit: sentance made no sense

I sent the pic to paradise. I tried photo bucket . Try using the magnifier over the top of the stone and look at it.

When you were talking about the face, I noticed that you outlined something in the background. Were you talking about that being the face or the face on the stone? I'm kind of confused now...lol.

Sorry I'm joining this thread late...a side discussion here...

I'm not clear on something. Is the suggestion being made there is an ACTUAL hooded figure in this pic? A devil worshipper? Or just that the rocks and trees look like one?

An earlier post made reference to Old Clinton Road in NJ, infamously rumored to be "haunted" and frequented by satanic cults, the KKK, etc. True, if you're there at night and looking for spooky things, you could start believing the rumors are true. One example is a furnace said to be used for human sacrifice. Of course, no actual evidence of this has ever been given. (Like all good scary stories, it's always something you heard from a friend.) In fact, there is a furnace, and it was part of an old estate. There's even the ruins of an old mansion. See some more here:

http://www.tmk.com/clinton/index.shtml

But what there has never been is a scrap of hard evidence of an satanic cult holding sacrifices out on an otherwise innocent country road in Passaic County, NJ. (Though Weird NJ's website is full of really entertaining "reports" about all kinds of strangeness there. And I suspect alot of the stories should start off with "We were getting high and..." )

So, yeah, I guess you could see a hooded figure. Or a nun. Or an elephant, if you are looking for one. But our eyes see things and our brains make connections. And our minds play tricks on us. It happens. I see a rock that looks sort of human (after it was talked about and I was looking for it), and some trees. Maybe I'm missing the satan worshipper for the trees, but I don't think so. :innocent:

Sorry if it's a bit off-track from the rest of this bizarre story.

Ok, I will put my two cents worth into the mix. I have looked at the image and I note the following things:

1. From the angle of the shadows I think the pic was taken either very shortly before noon or very shortly after noon but not long.

2. There appears to be wire and or twine in the bottom left part of the picture.

3. There are the remains of markings of pieces that were attached to the "rock".

4. The rock actually looks more like a piece of concrete that was from a concrete street light pole or perhaps some shorter concrete post piece that had another piece or two attached to it at one time, like maybe one of those short concrete posts that had metal rails attached that ran along bridges. It doesn't have to be any of those things, maybe someone else can think of a better possibility for its rather small size concrete post shape such as a small porch support foot.

5. There is a shadow just slightly to the right of where someone has indicated a robed figure (I don't see robed person at all sorry) and the shadow I see has a sort of slight head shape to it but whether or not it is a shadow indicating the presence of a second person (other than the photographer since the sun angle precludes it being his shadow) or whether it is merely indicating the presence of a sort of tall object nearby is something I cannot tell at this time.

Circumstances of Disappearance
Reinert was last seen at approximately 9:20 p.m. leaving his home with his sister, Karen, and their mother, Susan, in Ardmore, Pennsylvania on June 22, 1979.
Three days later, on June 25, 1979 Susan's nude body was found in the trunk of her own car, which was parked in the parking lot of the Host Inn in Swatara Township, Pennsylvania. She had been beaten and bound with a chain, then killed with an injection of morphine 24 to 36 hours after the beating. There was no sign of Michael or Karen at the scene and an extensive search turned up no signs of either of them. Various tips came in about the wherabouts of the children. One tip claimed the children were with an ex-con in Denver, Colorado. Authorities discovered a photograph of what appears to be a grave, and are trying to identify the location of where it was taken; they believe the children may be buried there.
Sand samples taken from Susan's feet suggest her murder could have taken place at the New Jersey shore. The weekend Susan was killed one of the men convicted of her murder was known to have gone to Cape May, New Jersey.
Two men were convicted of the murders of the Reinert family. One of the men died in prison; the other was released when his conviction was overturned because of alledgedly concealed evidence by the prosecution.

I think it is really unfair these children met this awful fate. I know there must be people left that know where they are.
All the gossip at the School. They should have had a general idea.
It's situations like this that people will never go to Heaven. No matter how hard you pray for mercy.

This is a very sad case...I just saw a program on Court TV about it a couple weeks ago. It's too bad they can't tell where that supposed grave is in the photograph to find out if the children are buried there. I can't imagine they are alive yet. Crime Library has a good article on it as well which I've posted below. There is another websleuths thread on it too.

The photo's at these links are my photo's. I search out property stones and mile markers in the pine barrens as a hobby. If the photo of the stone that is thought to be of importance in this case was larger, I and others would have a better chance of recognizing it.
