Well... that was certainly... uh... interesting!

Pretty much what I got from that is BH recalled the incorrect time on when she landed in Aruba <gasp>, had the incredible audacity to not word the initial poster 'corrrectly' by omitting the word 'kidnapped' (I wasn't aware there was a protocol for such), and... OMG, she drank wine while on the island. "Who does, that!?"

Pfft!! That guy was practically orgasmic with excitement over his big 'discoveries'. Laughable!

The operative words being:
1. Wearing, and
2. Skirt

It is a technicality for me, sorry to make your eyes roll into the back of your head...but I keep seeing various posts and newspieces that refer to:
SFlores' "pants" being off. According to the crime scene report, I don't see that indicated.

Theory, If she collapsed on the bed, and sort of, slid off the end or corner, that friction or dragging motion might cause her shirt and skirt, to be pulled upward (in the opposite direction that either gravity or someone is pulling her.

Sorry to be so nitpicking.

Can anyone shed some light on this "pants on/off" vs. the reference to skirt on, in the crime scene report?

I don't see how there could possibly be any skirt involved. SF wasn't wearing one in the casino or in the hotel on her way up to JVDS' room. She had on a shirt and pants or jeans. I doubt JVDS had any skirts in his room. Either they meant "shirt" or there was another translation problem, IMO.

So to me, if her pants were off, it doesn't make any sense that they could have inadvertently slid off by themselves. I sure wouldn't put an attempted rape past JVDS but at the same time he was probably practically drooling over any money he knew she had.

I don't think that Joran will ever be moved into the general population. He is notorious enough that he will be protected for the duration of his prison stay.

I respectfully disagree. I think once he's convicted, he'll be free to roam with the 'commoners' - if not before.

I agree. No different than any other high-profile, highly-targeted prisoner. I don't think it means he will be totally safe, though.

Yeah. He may not be placed in Gen Pop but he is not guaranteed safe.. from the People Mag link I posted above..

Odd that he thinks anyone would send him to Aruba, given the history of their dealings with Joran. And has he never been told the "boy who cried wolf" story? What's he going to say, "We threw her in the ocean"? He would actually be better off in a US prison, but Peru is never going to allow that.

In my opinion, they don't make sense. "Beth Twitty wants the light off her", yet she continues to fight for justice for Natalee even after she knows that Van der sloot will never be prosecuted. I'm thinking if there was any truth to that story Beth would have tried to get her home then when that failed quietly go back home and let the story die. If Van der sloot was so innocent he wouldn't have tried to extort money or sell different versions of his story for any news media that would pay him. He wouldn't have been involved in sex trade in Thialand and he certainly wouldn't be in any trouble today. I just love it when people go on the news and tell some of their story but they can't tell the whole story because they fear for their lives because people are scared for the truth to come out. They don't mind dropping some names just not all names. They said people are afraid for the truth to come out, the reason they went under different names last time, yet it appeared to me they were blaming Beth and Jugg Twitty and they were not afraid to name their names. With the way that Joran Van der sloot has behaved the last five years, I can not find Dan and Kelly credible. JMO

I take it that Joran is not fond of Cuba Cuba. It is unbelievable that he is still running his game about revealing the location of Natalee's body. If he had his way, they would be digging up half of Aruba. Natalee will never be found. She was taken by boat far out to sea and deposited there.

I heard the other night on the news channels that he'd be there in solitary for a few months, maybe until his trial is over. I think they're just being cautious right now since he hasn't been convicted yet. MOO

Thanks, Suzihawk, for the links. I didn't get past the point where the guy starts to rehash the old "Natalee wasn't coming home" lie. (As if the Aruban authorities wouldn't have shouted that from the rooftops if it were true, or legitimate reporters wouldn't have found that out, as well. It's not like the doings of a teenage American were state secrets.) How sad that these con artists link themselves to a tragic situation and then proceed to make the lives of people who are in a terrible situation even worse. And there are always people who want to believe them fir reasons I will never understand.

LIMA, Peru — Joran van der Sloot told police in Chile that it was an unidentified robber who beat a young woman to death in his hotel room, a killing for which the Dutchman has been charged with murder in Peru.

Peruvian police say Van der Sloot, long suspected in the 2005 disappearance of U.S. teen Natalee Holloway, has confessed to killing 21-year-old business student Stephany Flores on May 30 after they met playing poker.

But according to a Chilean police report obtained by The Associated Press through Peruvian authorities late Saturday, Van der Sloot gave a different account of events while in custody in neighboring Chile, where he was captured after the killing and quickly extradited.

In the version offered to Chilean investigators, Van der Sloot said he and Flores were surprised in the early morning by two robbers in an apparent assault.

Did anyone else notice the Spanish notations printed on the screen when the doctor (or guy who took his blood pressure) was asking questions? I only know a very few basic words of Spanish but it appears that Joran said "mal en cabeza" which I think would translate into "sick in head".

Is it possible he is already working on an insanity plea ("sick in head") ?
Not sure it would matter in Peru...or in this case.

All I remember is seeing her on the funeral video. I believe Stephany's father and brothers have been the spokespersons for the family, which isn't surprising since the mother must be totally devastated. :cry: MOO

Yeah, I guess there's something that he's more afraid of than prison in Aruba for Natalee: prison in Peru for Stephany. As much as I want closure for Natalee's family, I really hope he has to serve his full sentence in Peru. I think he would be coddled in Aruba and be given special privileges, etc.

FYI, what does Peru care about a crime in another country? Does he really think they care? They want justice for their own.

He said he had a headache they asked how he was feeling right now and he said he had pain in his head. He also told them he had a business for occupation, I read somewhere Stephanie was a business student perhaps thats why he claimed he had a business. Hope this helps. One more thing Joran does speak decent spanish and is understandable, I know many were curious just wanted to mention it.
