Anyone else prepared for disappointment when these transcripts are released?
I can just imagine all the 'good' stuff totally redacted and it only showing filler words like 'the' or 'and' or 'or'.
(I'm in a snotty mood today I guess)

I'm not a fan of JSS's trial management, but I'd be gobsmacked if she responded to the upper courts' orders with a passive resistant gambit like that.

I bet TA's computer barely figured in the first jury's discussions. I wonder if those jurors are precluded from publicly speaking about those deliberations now? Once a verdict is given, I'm pretty sure the lawyers are allowed to speak with any jurors willing to talk.

Maybe the best thing about Travis's computer from the trial was how it exposed ALV lying in an attempt to cover up JA's lies: From "he showed her kiddie *advertiser censored* on his computer" to "this kiddie *advertiser censored* picture fluttered through the air like a leaf in autumn before nestling gently by my feet."

The question was asked about who made the 2009 copy of the hard drive that Dworkin used. In BK's notes, JM brought out that Dworkin had access to the computer and made his own copy.

As I've said before, BK has sounded to me during this whole hearing as if she thinks the defense has a real issue here, but I don't think she understands much of the computer testimony. She seemed to think BN was a great witness, but JM's questions and statements about his participation didn't sink in. She bought BN's "Juan, you don't understand computers" BS, IIRC. I didn't listen to last night's commentary, but her conclusion of the severity of this issue is most likely connected to her misunderstanding what has been brought out in testimony. Hopefully JSS has a better understanding of it all.

Jodi Arias’ Secret Death Penalty Trial Testimony Goes Public
http://popfix.net/jodi-arias-secret-death-penalty-trial-testimony-goes-public/

JA's testimony was "so explosive she would only give it in secret"? I doubt it. I think she wanted to have an intimate "it's just me here talking to you" setting in which to turn toward the jury and sadly and sorrowfully tell her lying tale of how the loss of her beloved Travis has caused her more anguish than prison ever could.

Here's why you shouldn't be worried about Melendez' testimony that he found no viruses:

The virus showed up as pornographic links in the registry. As we know, either he didn't look there or what he found there was not important to him. The defense still had this information on their 2009 image and still chose not to pursue it. It was there. Dworkin did not say there was a virus either.

Travis didnt have a virus. His computer was being attacked and the anti virus software was quarantine-ing it and sending it somewhere else. Travis probably didn't even know these attacks were happening. Or there was a virus causing pop ups and it was cleaned up. Jodi said he had a virus. She said there were little bugs crawling all over his screen. She said the CD wouldn't play because of a virus which doesn't make sense. But that wasn't even true. There were some urls in his registry. His computer was otherwise fine. The virus was not active. So she's still a liar.

It's a minor inconsistency. Jodi was not convicted because she said there was a virus on his computer and they said there wasn't. Nor was that the sole reason she was deemed a liar. The gas can evidence pretty much took care of that. She is a liar.

I agree that it should not matter much.

When I did some research on the type of viruses that Travis had, there was a known Bug Screen Saver virus that would give the symptoms of going to multiple *advertiser censored* sites and so I think it is likely JA did give him a virus by telling him to install this neat screen saver with the bugs. Or she installed it on his machine for him.
The screen saver install unleashed the payload of the virus when intalling the screen saver. The screen saver itself wasnt the issue. It was the EXE file that had a virus payload in it.

You are right that perhaps his anti-virus software moved the files to registry.

Hey everyone, Good morning :)  I thought yesterday was a very good day for Travis and for Travis’ family. Finally having the NO CHILD *advertiser censored* lie made public and now the jury knows also. I feel a lot calmer now. I couldn’t care less what happens to the murderer, DP or LWOP, either way the evil one will not leave prison. As far as the secret transcripts, I’m not as interested in what the murderer had to lie about, it doesn’t matter anymore. The truth about the child *advertiser censored* is known now. The fact that the transcripts are made public is a slap in the murderer’s face; it tells her she is not special. She will not continue to have this trial be all about her. God bless Travis and Travis’ family.

Jodi Arias’ Secret Death Penalty Trial Testimony Goes Public

Hi everyone, have not been keeping up with this case at all, so thanks for this link. I cannot BELIEVE JSS tried to block the public from the DEFENDANT'S testimony. Isn't that CENTRAL to the whole case and doesn't the public have EVERY right to hear the case?? That was crazy!! I can understand maybe some other witness, but not CMJA herself! Why would JSS put her reputation on the line like that?

I also wanted to clarify. That we cannot look at the transcripts for reasons why secret Stephens allowed the testimony in a locked court room. Prior to testifying they had multiple closed chamber meetings with the judge and she knew what exactly they were going to talk about that was so damning nobody could know. The problem is, the pesky media has an even better attorney on payroll who took it straight to the COA and the COA was like, yeah..No..not happening, sorry not sorry. So we still do not know what she would've said if allowed to stay up there longer

Thanks everyone who posted such kind words yesterday! "Cleaning my toaster" came from a running conversation here back in November—I don't remember who originally brought it up, or even why. :) I like the vortex here.

Twitter, though... I'm sorry. I've tried a number of ways to automatically collect relevant Tweets, but I am not a data scientist. I just haven't got time to sort through Twitter on most days. There's a good reason many workplaces won't let employees get to Twitter from work.

Looking forward to reading what everyone here has to say about the secret testimony later on!

:daisy:

I sure do understand walking away :) When I read your post yesterday I thought, I hope you don't stay away, I really really enjoy reading your posts. I thought your reference to "cleaning your toaster" was very funny!!!!! We need funny here!

Why did the defense spend all this time trying to get *advertiser censored* into the trial? I wonder if that's because there are a lot of lies about *advertiser censored* in Jodi's secret testimony, something so salacious that even JSS felt her testimony needed to be kept secret. There must be something in there. I want to read it for myself.

I'm just waitng for the transcripts...getting older every day.

Hard to see how anyone ends up impressed by BN.
BN: 90+ pages of *advertiser censored* links on his computer and all the other carp he spewed.
JS: I found one *advertiser censored* link that had been clicked on from Alexa.

As much as I have my doubts about Sue, he was 100x more believable than the Neumeister.

Because they've got nothing else?

ETA: Bonus: Heap more pain on Travis's family.

What Beth said last night was that the prosecution not handing the 2008 hard drive over to the defense, whether they asked for it or not, was a HUGE deal and that Nurmi was right when he said JA "would never be executed". She said that is because this is a very good appeal issue. She didn't quibble about it, nor did she say "in my opinion". That is why I went to AZlawyer. I get the feeling Beth is on the side of the defense team, even though she likes Jodi less than we do probably.

Why do you think this? I don't think the actual content of JA's testimony was ever the reason JSS decided to close the courtroom. Based on what we've learned so far Nurmi claimed an open courtroom would influence "her abilitily to think" and JSS was more concerned with JA's right to testify.

ETA: I don't doubt that JA will leave something out, change up her testimony as she sees fits now though.

There was so much *advertiser censored* it could've circled the globe! I don't read BK, but she lost me at BN he was as credible as a person on the street selling meat out of their coat

Oh I agree they have nothing, which is why I think Jodi made up more lies. And Juan knows them all. :)

Agreed, BN never should have been allowed to testify about the hard drive, he has no expertise in that department.

I'm very curious about the hard drive being 'wiped' on June 1st, how exactly was it wiped, formatted and operating system reinstalled? How was any hard drive/browser information prior to that retained if that's the case? If not, what kind of wiping was done to it that the file system contents seems to have been left intact?

And here we thought that it was only men like Juan and Travis yelling at her that affected her ability to think.
