AZL....what are the rules for the Bishop's attorney in court. He's been included in sidebars. Is he allowed to speak for the Bishop in front of the jury? If so, in what circumstances? TIA

Well, he wouldn't be able to just walk up to the witness stand and consult with him in front of the jury. But the Bishop might say, e.g., "I'm not sure I can answer that. May I consult with my attorney?" And then JSS would call a recess for him to do so.

Anyone else wonder why JA would deny writing code in those magazines? Especially now? Weird.

The only reason I can think of is that she's rewriting history to make Matt more credible. As in, if she didn't write the codes they weren't intended for Matt, so he wasn't going to lie for her, so when she says Matt knew of the abuse etc. he was telling the truth?

...and if he does so, :moo: I would NOT think he is hiding anything. I think 99.99% of folks understand religious confidentiality rules and that the lawyer is there to protect the confidentiality.

Well, I'm loving their dilemma. I don't see how they can let the Bishop's testimony stand unchallenged, given that he's exposed faceless #1 as a florid liar. And I don't see how they can challenge the Bishop's honesty or anything else without further offending and riling the jury. Ha!
