Looks like LE has enough to believe she was killed. from your link: "UPDATE - May 2, 2012 The Sheriff Dept. is now calling the case of missing Gayle McCaffrey a homicide."
If she was strangled and thrown into the water it may look like suicide.

A few things I noticed from reading. On the missing FB page, nobody commented after the lady said they were on the run and there was no proof he did anything to her. Makes me think that commenter knew him. And nobody said they had checked with the hospital to see if she survived, or when she got out. What about Darlene Christel as a match for this UID?

This post on her Facebook missing page is essential reading as it gives the circumstances to Darlene's disappearance, that lead me to think that she could be this UID. https://www.facebook.com/missing.people.international/posts/253388538034341

The Find the Missing never mentions she had cancer. It does say she had lots of diamonds (jewelry I guess). Was it enough for her to live on for years? Couldn't they tell on the autopsy if she had cancer or maybe it was left off?
Just some thoughts...
That commenter says she is Darlene's sister. She says that LE are not interested and then makes the comments about there being no proof that he did anything. It would seem that she means that the lack of proof is what is stopping LE from getting involved, but it isn't clear whether or not the sister thinks he did something to Darlene.
As for the cancer, I do wonder whether the family have first hand knowledge of her cancer, or whether they have heard this via the husband. If they just got told this by the husband, then I would take it with a pinch of salt...
Equally, she was known/thought to be fighting cancer in 2007. She could have beaten it by 2013.
I am beginning to quite like this match, the height is very close, age fits, hair fits, circs could fit, Darlene resembles the reconstruction and her Namus profile also mentions a possible scar/mark/something on her eyelid...
Does anyone else like this match, or do you all think I am barking up the wrong tree?
There isn't a single rule out in this case :/
What do you guys think of Kristen Cunningham? Not a lot of info on her, but she's been missing since January 2013 (not entered into Namus until September). Eye color is off--although I see that different sources give different eye colors for this Doe. Everything else is generally in line. No mention of a tattoo.

I like this one for the way she looks, but I'm not too excited about timeline or geography. But I do agree they have a similar look. It's worth looking into, but I could find almost nothing about Kristen Cunningham so she may not be an easy rule out (or rule IN for that matter).
I have not read this thread and you are all much better sleuthers than I but I had to throw in Carolyn Jones (if she hasn't been mentioned already that is) She's missing from NC as of February 13. Based on the pics alone...I didn't do any further research but the pics did me in. (Which I know can be misleading at times)
