exactly. So is he tapping into some prearranged resources, or throwing us his trail, or is it something else? Either way, there's a reason that he either went to Decatur OR to OKC, but the route itself doesn't make logistical sense.

I now know about mandatory reporters in schools due to you, DF. And knowing that his legal responsibility was to report any suspicions of child abuse adds to his legal culpability IMO because he didn't just fail to report, he perpetrated the child abuse himself. Also, even taking away this reprehensible fact, the power dynamic between teacher and student is such that even colleges discourage teacher/student relationships between consenting adults due to the power dynamic imbalance (same for companies that forbid boss/subordinate relationships). Lawsuits have occurred in these relationships when the person not in power felt intimated and coerced due to the power imbalance.

I don't understand how anyone CAN"T believe they haven't gotten to the west coast or to Mexico by now. It's been 3 WEEKS since they were in the OKC WalMart and it only took them 2 DAYS to get there. I honestly believe they are either AT where they were originally headed or very, very close by now to being at said location. 3 weeks is a long time since the last sighting. You can travel a longggggg way in that amount of time.

And I've seen people talking about the money and how he's going to run out of it soon. Why?? All they are buying is food and gas. And if they get to where they were going, or are already there, they aren't buying much gas anymore. They don't have any other bills to pay like we do. You can buy a lot of food with 4 grand for only 2 people. That money could be stretched to months and I've seen people saying he'd be running out in days. Really?? They aren't eating steak dinners folks.

IMO, and I hope I'm wrong, I don't think they will be found for quite some time since they haven't by now. It's obvious he's not going to just bring her back on his own free will otherwise he'd have done it by now. I'm not sure if he would IF she wanted him to right now either because like others have mentioned, he's given up everything for this sick fantasy of his, he has nothing to come back to besides a jail cell. So IMO, if she eventually grows tired of being isolated from everyone else she cares about and asks him to bring her home it's doubtful he will oblige. My hope in that scenario is he just makes a run for it and leaves her wherever they are at OR takes himself out and doesn't harm her.

And last, going off my belief that they won't be found for quite some time, I think it'd be imperative in roughly 9-12 months, IF they haven't been found by then that is, for all hospitals etc to be on the lookout for any young gals that resemble ET showing up.

I totally agree that they could easily have made it to the West Coast by now. I will keep an open mind about Mexico, but like I posted yesterday, I think it would be in the interest of their personal safety to stay in the US. Also, yesterday, in thread #11, I posted the weather forecasts for Albuquerque, Tucumcari, Phoenix, Scottsdale, San Diego, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara. I should have included Las Vegas. More about that in a bit. My thought was, if they are camping or don't have a heat source, they will want to stay somewhere that is comfortably warm at night. (IIRC, Scottsdale, AZ had the best overnight temps of the places I checked.)

I have given more thought to Las Vegas. Las Vegas to me, and probably a lot of people, means casinos. But there was a housing boom, and then bust in Las Vegas in recent years. People went under on their mortgages and abandoned their homes. So that might be a better place to hide than I had previously thought. They could break into an abandoned home and stay there for a while.

And lastly, I also believe that they can successfully hide for several months. With just the money that we know they have, I believe they could pull this off for 4 months. I hope this will not be the case.

Unless they were picking up a vehicle or staying with a contact somewhere further west. Or unless TC chose a purposefully evasive route to try to travel mostly in states that wouldn't have an AA out yet.

The subject of how much LE "really" knows regarding possible whereabouts (including what vehicle was driven to the OKC Walmart on March 15) is one that is starting to discourage and frighten me. Everyday I talk myself into thinking that LE must have a trick up their sleeve and that they're secretly in hot pursuit and that I'm going to wake up to news of the capture and rescue of TC and ET respectively. Yet every day it becomes clearer that LE doesn't know any more than we do (in terms of where they are or are headed).

The result of Monday's court petition is going to be a crucial factor in locating these two, IMO.

There could be attempts to victim shame her like what happened in the Travis case and now in the Sierra Lamar case but IMO a jury won't buy it.
I've messaged some cohorts I am connected with, some active some watching, all agree bottom line he is screwed when caught
And the charges are accumulating. Let's not waste a lot of posts and energy on a defense and focus on what can be done to #bringelizabeththomashome

I hear you, Irishboy. Finding Elizabeth is the priority, I absolutely 100% agree. I think it's natural though for observers of this crime to want to wonder aloud about the legal implications as well. I'm personally interested in matters of criminal justice so I welcome those types of posts but totally understand and respect where you're coming from. Let's figure out where TC has taken ET and how she can safely be extracted from the situation.

The question is, what can be done?

Everyone could possibly call and/or email, fax state or national parks
in their areas to let them know about the case. Send them the flyer. It won't cover close to all but it's something.

Then we need a good Spanish translation of the flyer and a network on social media to start spreading the word south of the border. A compelling narrative is what will strike interest in other countries.

If this could get on the news down south that would be great.

Or maybe they are hiding in plain sight, banking on the tendency of people in the general public to be oblivious to their surroundings.

I had this idea in my head that they went on a grand road trip to explore the beautiful canyon lands of the southwest. But maybe we need to ask ourselves where we might go if we were on the run and our focus was more on evading authorities than going to exotic places.

Which brings me back to the "they must be bored" thought. What are they doing for entertainment? Would they be so bold as to go into town to a movie theatre or an arcade?

think a Spanish version of the flyer has been posted somewhere by TBI and shared by the FBI. Be good to put it all in one place. I am going to put a list together and post from ideas I've seen. I will update regularly as new ideas come in and re-post. Hopefully the mods will allow this. For those of us we can still help, focus on
awareness - make people aware
vigilance - keep people aware and watch yourself
report - who, how to contact a tip
and keep re-posting for new people. Let me know your ideas and I will maintain a list. Do one thing a day on that list and that may be the one difference.

Yesterday while driving home I was stopped at a traffic light next to a fast food place. Looked into the parking and saw a car from the distance that was similar. I am not in any of these target areas. Light turned and just decided to turn to the parking lot and scan the parking lot for the car. Turned out to be a Highlander with dealer plates. I went out of my way 20 seconds. I felt better I did something. One thing may be the thing that' breaks this.

I don't know. I think it could help him because his defense could be she knew him and wanted him to protect her vs. he was a stranger (or neighbor, someone she didn't know well) and she was frightened the entire time.

BUT I often think the opposite of what is best is what happens when it comes to women being abused.

I think it will be worse. I think he will be seen as someone in a position of authority that used that power to make her do what he wanted.

Yup, the principal and all of them are mandatory reporters, which is why they had to contact CPS if they suspected something in the home after the kiss.

There is no legal defense that the father or CPS wasn't immediately notified when the kiss was reported.

Assuming they are camping - check national weather forecasts. If they are camping and on the move, they may be avoiding rain, thunderstorms, and wind.
