Trial date set for Sidney and Tammy Moorer #1

“I was incarcerated on false charges and was unable to pay,” Moorer wrote in court records. “I want a trial.”

Well now......does that mean that he is saying that the murder charge and other charges are false? He wants a trial.....he should have one.... the murder charge. Innocent people would declare their innocence to the mountain tops and I have never once heard either one of them say that from day one.

This burns my *advertiser censored* because that sentence alone makes it sound like he was jailed for 'false' charges and then let go. Not out on bond and no trial to prove they were false. ARGH.
And you're right, they've spent more time taunting and moaning about what everyone's doing to them then proclaiming innocence.
And one more comment - just because you're jailed doesn't mean the bills stop. One still has to pay for house taxes, any utilities still on, credit card payments (HA!), child care, etc., etc. Why should he be exempt from those TOO?!

AWENDAW, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston County Sheriff's deputies are investigating human remains discovered by hunters on Friday.

The hunters found the remains near Whilden and Murrell roads in Awendaw and called deputies about 12:30 p.m. Detectives and the coroner confirmed the remains are human. No identifying traits were immediately available, according to Lt. Rita Avila Zelinsky.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (843) 554-1111 or the Charleston County Consolidated Dispatch Center at (843) 743-7200.

Even Casey Anthony never got a book deal, movie deal, or even a post-trial exclusive $$ interview, and her case was much more high-profile. I doubt the Moorers are getting any of those offers. I was thinking different ways - like this lawsuit to be forgiven the 6k. I'm fortunately not quite as crazy and desperate as some so I can't think of any creative ways off hand this minute but I know there are ways and lengths that some will go to to garner attention and therefore generate money.

I just think their victimology is such that there would be some sort of pursuit of legal remedy, but I'm sure it would depend on to what extent the state doesn't have a case against them and rushed to arrest, and how any statute might be applied under civil law. I don't know that they could win anything, but if there's a nickel to be squeezed out, I'm sure they'll reach for it.

Given who the M's are, if SM is making noise publicly about false charges and the case does end up being nolle pros'd or otherwise dismissed, I can't imagine those two not trying to milk the situation. Just a thought when I saw his remark.

"Those are from a quick search. I used to live in Moncks Corner and worked in a town in the middle of the FMNF and there were bodies found all the time. It's a HUGE, VERY secluded area. A bit far from this case, but possible. There is a National Wildlife Refuge MUCH closer to Peachtree Landing (a straight shot up the Waccamaw River or via Hwy 814, Hwy 544, or Hwy 501. The most easily accessible part of this area is called Cox Ferry Recreation Area. There are several trails and a boat landing here. It is very secluded despite being only about 2 miles from Coastal Carolina University. The other end of the refuge is on Hwy 707 near Georgetown."
