Ok so there was head patting, like one pat's a dog on the head:

Then he touched her hair and face; she playfully batted his arm away. Then they did some faux arm-wrestling. They held hands for a time. He patted her head (rather as one would a dog), and laughed. Then they hugged again, and he lifted her off the ground.

I won't have a chance to post until tomorrow night.

Re the video recap we're expecting tomorrow, this was probably already done, but just in case... When I map the route probably taken by TLM with Tori on Fyfe (see mapmyrun.com), from the primary entrance to that area of the nursing home that appeared on the video, I get a distance of about 330m.

When it comes to walking speed, I know from hours on the treadmill that walking speeds are:
6.5 km/h - power walking
6.0 km/h - pretty darn quick
5.5 km/h - comfortable but not dawdling
5.0 km/h - comfortable

Now they were walking uphill and there was a small child involved. I'll estimate 5-5.5 km/h. At that speed, it would take about 3:30-3:55 to cover that distance. MTR's car was seen driving by that location at 3:30, they walked by at 3:32 - 2 minutes apart.

That means that, just like TLM testified, he drove by them while they were walking away from the school. Funny he didn't stop to pick them up, that's what a normal human would do. Stalking behaviour in my opinion, I hope they bring it up tomorrow.

Good night all.

Trying to get this clear:
Charity S, escorts for MTR, gives some/all? proceeds via bank transfers some/all?
..then MTR buys sells drugs using this money makes a profit.
..then, I would think MTR would owe something back of those invested drug profits to CS. So did he pay her back cash? OR take it off next installments?

Just trying to figure out the cash flow ...insert scratching head emoticon
or maybe I misunderstood that whole conversation in the first place. If so, just ignore me and carry on.

Again, thanks for the tweeters...twitterers

I wouldn't be surprised if MTR was supplying CS with pills. A lot of hookers are on drugs and can't quit turning tricks because they need the money for drugs.

Illegal Photos Taken Inside Rafferty Courtroom

F&*%... I really hope this will not be cause for a mistrial :(
Who were they, why would they do this, and do they know the accused? Yes, I am suspicious of everything and everybody, and this does not sound like it was "innocent" ignorance. Sounds deliberate to me. What kind of person would do that. Ugh. JMO.

BBM: Not only was it deliberate, but, at least one of them had been there before, since the picture was on the cell phone that was in the car. WTF?

Makes you wonder what the hell else is going on in that courtroom?

I'm sorry, but this made LOL! I love Christie's way with words.

This woman makes me sick and not just her writings about this crime..<modsnip> so she makes these sick comments and figures humour will cut it for her...I am surprised that a paper like the National Post picks up her writings...her crap that passes for journalism should be saved for the National Enquirer JMO

JMO...wonder if this is when MR states "you would do anything for a little bit of love"
It seems to fit the video, MR being serious when saying it and TLM taking it as a joke, as she was in love with him. JMO

Respectfully, it is actually not about getting their client out if prison, it is about getting the best possible outcome for their client, whether it is a reduced sentence, probation or having them released, that is their job as defence counsel. The rest of your post I agree with.

Yes you are correct ( I realize you actually work in the field and know more about it then I do). It is their job to do what is best for their client with what they have. The ultimate goal is freedom however if that is impossible they do seek the lesser charges. Sorry I should have elaborated more. This man I work with says that he never questioned whether or not the person did the crime he just worked with what he had. He now teaches law to highschool students.

The escort wasn't asked and didn't volunteer the information. The way she presented it in her testimony was she did all the escorting and MR got all the money.

Frankly, I doubt it works like that in real life.

Even a pimp pays the rent, buy clothes, and supplies food for his ladies.

There was no testimony that she had any other job, so how did she pay her bills and feed her kids?

The Crown didn't ask her how she managed to survive, and I wonder why.JMO.............

It is not relevant to the case how this woman provided for her family. She is not on trial. However babybonus (CTB) is aprox $700 per child, so with 4 children that is $2800 per month. Plus an extra $100 per child for daycare expenses so that is an extra $400 per month. If she was on social assitance then she would recieve approx another $2500 per month. So she had about $5700/month to live off of. Was she living in subsidized housing? That factors in as well. So it is quite plausable that she did give him all her money.

I'm not a Christie Blatchford fan, but ad hominem attacks are just unnecessary in a civilized, moderately intelligent debate.

imo

Plus if she had any money coming in from the baby daddies. I think there were two. She didnt even have to escort IMO...why do it? I just dont get some people.

MTR visited TLM on the one month anniversary !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'M SEEING RED right now...better get meself outta here before I'm booted out.....stomping out slamming the door. Taking her hissy fit for a walk.

See ya tomorrow..ewwwwwwwwwwww the nerve, why I just ...

Yeah ... the way people write says a lot about them.

I sincerely hope that the Crown follows your example and points out these absurdities in their closing statement, one ridiculous absurdity after another, after another... we all have a built-in a bull **** limit, and I've long since reached mine.

I expect we'll find out once the jury is sequestered where the honourable lawyer for the accused has really earned his money, because it can't be from the ridiculous 'innocent bystander' theory. I think he earned his coin, courtesy of you and I, by getting significant evidence excluded. The reporter from lfp hinted that there would significant info to report.

BBM: I picked up on that too. As soon as the Jury goes to deliberations.
