Fox News Houston is reporting that the prosecutor is going before a grand jury Thursday to get an indictment for the murders of Jessica Cain and Laura Smither.

There is a press conference scheduled for 3:30 p.m. to announce the results of the grand jury.

William Reece found guilty in 1997 murder of Tiffany Johnston

"Admitted serial killer William Lewis Reece agreed he has a dark side.

"Well, yeah, ain't no doubt about it. I ain't going to lie to you," he told a police detective after confessing to three killings in Texas and one in Oklahoma in 1997.

He would say in a series of 2016 interviews that he wanted to give his victims' families the truth so they could have closure.

Investigators say he never did.

What he would leave out, prosecutors told a jury last week, was his motive.

He had targeted his victims to satisfy his sexual urges, prosecutors argued. And he killed them so they could never testify against him and send him back to prison.

Jurors took only an hour Friday to find him guilty of murdering a 19-year-old newlywed, Tiffany Johnston, at a car wash in Bethany."

"The last victim, Jessica Cain, disappeared after leaving a Bennigan's Restaurant in Clear Lake, Texas, on Aug. 17, 1997. Her vehicle was found abandoned along the interstate. She was 17."

"A confessed serial killer who preyed on young Houston girls -- and killed at least two of them -- was formally sentenced to death Thursday by a judge in Oklahoma City.

William Reece, 61, was tried for the 1997 kidnapping and murder of Tiffany Johnston, a 19-year-old newlywed in Bethany, Oklahoma."

"The Galveston County DA confirmed Reece will eventually be brought back here to be tried for the murders of 12-year-old Laura Smither and 17-year-old Jessica Cain. He confessed to both cold cases in 2016, more than two decades after they were killed.

Law enforcement says all of Reece's known victims were murdered during a 1997 killing spree in Texas and Oklahoma. Girls started disappearing a few months after the violent predator was released from prison in 1996 after serving time for kidnapping and raping a University of Oklahoma student."

Only an hour!! Apparently the jury saw through his lies. ;)

TY for the updates. I'll move the thread over to the Recently Sentenced and Beyond forum.

He's a real exemplary psycho to be convicted in a capital case in just an hour, possibly has a permanent disconnect from his "dark side" that he believes makes him not technically guilty of murder or he just was getting bored in prison and wanted to take a trip to a courtroom and be interviewed, get some attention. Possibly some combination of both.

I'm glad we can still count on juries to quickly see when someone truly deserves to die, even if just in Texas.
