TX - League City, WhtFem Skeletal 52UFTX, 24-34, "Janet Doe", Sept 1991 - Donna Prudhomme

I submitted BABETTE ALBERTI as a possible match to GALVESTON ME.

NamUs makes no mention of dentures because the Dentals section is now hidden. It didn't used to be hidden.

Thanks CarlK, I didn't realize they made that change. Seems counterproductive, no?

Yes, it is counterproductive. But someone at NamUs decided that a UID's dental records are subject to HIPAA medical privacy laws, so the dental details were hidden from the public.

I submitted BABETTE ALBERTI as a possible match to GALVESTON ME.

I have not yet received a response from GALVESTON ME; for good measure I messaged JEFFERSON PARISH [jurisdiction of the MP case]... We will see if that goes anywhere. [I work during the days, so it's easier to send messages on my lunch, than trying to call...]

I never received a reply from either LA or TX authorities, however I checked the UID's NAMUS site, and I see that Babette [Alberti] Phillips now shows as a ruleout .

At least that update was made :)

I posted this in the dual thread for Jane and Janet, and then I saw this thread. Adding it here with the additional suggestions.

Date of Discovery: September 8, 1991
Location of Discovery: League City, Galveston County, Texas
Dentals: Available. Upper dentures. Teeth 5, 6, 7, and 8 were a low quality denture and her overall dental condition was poor.
Fingerprints: Not available
DNA: Available
Clothing: Size 7 white Payless "Highlights" high heels
Jewelry: Unknown
Additional Personal Items: Unknown

Distinguishing Marks/Features: Possibly had a fair complexion. She had numerous old, healed injuries which were unrelated to her death. Her right first and second ribs showed healed fractures at the spine; the victim had a compression injury to her upper spine in three places; her lower spine showed signs of an old, poorly-healed compression injury. These injuries and her poor dental condition may have been the result of a singular injury event which occurred some time prior to her homicide. As a result of her injuries, the victim may have had obvious problems with her head or spinal movements.

DO YOU KNOW THEM? League City cold case victims unveiled

The 1991 victim has ties to Louisiana. Analysis shows she was 24-34 years old, 5' to 5'3" in height, and weighed 100-130 pounds. Police believe she died six weeks before being found. She also appeared to have injuries to her upper spine that may have led to her death.

Anyone who recognizes the faces is urged to contact Lt. Michael Buffington at 281-338-8220.

Help needed in identifying cold case victim with ties to Acadiana

In addition to the Snapshot analysis, genetic genealogy methodologies were employed in an attempt to identify the subject. Based on this additional analysis, it is believed the woman’s relatives were of Acadian descent. The research further indicates locations where the victim’s extended family may have originated: Broussard, Lafayette Parish, New Iberia, Abbeville, Breaux Bridge, and St. Martin Parish areas are of special interest, followed by Vermillion Parish, St. Landry Parish, and Assumption Parish

CALL TO ACTION: If you or someone you know originates from the specific geographic areas listed above please check with relatives and ask if any women matching the description provided in the Snapshot poster went missing around 1991 or inexplicably have not been in contact since that time. If you have any information that may help in this investigation, call Lieutenant Michael Buffington of the League City Police Department at (281) 338-8220.
