Belt Line Rd & Post Oak Rd in Wilmer, TX, 15 miles south of Dallas) - *Charles Anthony Beltrán (31/now 34) arrest warrant out (3/25/21) for capital murder. Arrested (in West Jordan, UT on 4/1/21) & extradited (4/22/21 to Dallas County), charged (4/22/21) & indicted (6/14/21) with capital murder. Dismissed 12/8/23. Charged with 2 counts of tampering/fabricating with physical evidence w/intent to impair. $200K bond.
Trial was set to begin on 3/27/23 continued on 4/15/24. New Judge Nancy Mulder.
DA Robin R. Pittman. Defense attorney: Kenneth Weatherspoon & Myra L. McIntosh, court appointed.
Case transferred from Judicial District Court 282nd (Judge Ray Wheless) to Criminal District Court #6 on 4/11/23.

5/19/23 Update: Next attorney follow up hearing on 6/9/23 @ 9am. 6/9/23 Update: Per FB: As per usual nothing is happening today. Angela King is a misdemeanor judge she isn't the one that is going to be handling the case. Judge Nancy Mulder will be presiding. June 27th will be a sit down with attorneys, no live streaming & then from there hopefully trial starts.
6/27/23 Update: Next pretrial hearing on 4/4/24 @ 8am & 9:30am. Trial set to begin on 4/15/24 @ 9:30am. 12/5/23 Update: Plea hearing.

@PommyMommy - so did he plead guilty at the announcement hearing? I found absolutely nothing on this.

Maybe the court site has something. I have his next hearing on 4/4/24. IF he did not plead guilty. TIA! :)

CB pled guilty to tampering before his murder charge was dropped. I think he said he did so under duress?

The same day prosecutors filed to drop the murder charges against the pair, Beltran took the stand against Dykes at trial, and testified that she killed Botello, not him.

Prosecutors did not say why they dropped the charges. But Beltran and Morano still face possible prison time. Beltran pled guilty to tampering with evidence in Botello’s case, and Morano is set for trial in the new year on the same charge.

Morano definitely was "aiding and abetting". Helping to bury the body equals co-conspiring. As to Beltran, I think his guilt was bringing Marisella to that crazy house...well, and he is a total coward, IMHO. But I believe that he did not kill Marisella. All of it is a poor consolation to Marisella's family, who I deeply sympathize with.

(Was in Miami-Dade County jail-Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center & transferred to Dallas County jail on 4/9/21). Bonded out (4/29/21) & must wear ankle monitor. On 12/27/21 bond held insufficient & bond not allowed. Warrant out for arrest; cut off ankle bracelet & has fled. Extradited back to Texas on 5/24/22. Bond set at $4M.
Trial was set to begin on 1/23/23 was tentatively scheduled on 3/27/23. And was severed from Dykes. New Judge Nancy Mulder.
