TX - Skimpy Dress Gets Teen Cuffed, Taken From Prom

The thing is that this was a school event, therefore the kids should act and DRESS appropriately. Her dress was outlandish, and I've seen some pretty revealing prom dresses lately. I have no doubt that if she wore this to a sporting event held at the school, she's still be turned away.

This girl wanted attention and she is definately getting it.

I think the dress was very inappropriate.

Must depend on the school or county because I never had to. Neither did my daughter for her prom.
Well, more the point I was hinting at was, it was a tiny podunk town, in 1991, and I had to sign a contract agreeing to go by the dress code and follow the provisos they put on who could escort me to the Prom also. I'm surprised to hear some schools *don't* do this now, since my school did back then, and it's often about ten years behind on some things. (Example: We could sing hymns as part of our school program when I was in High School choir.)

Podunk = As of the census of 2000, there were 2,975 people, 1,252 households, and 785 families in the city.

My 14 YO had to sign an agreement about the graduation dress code as well as me, before they would let her buy tickets for the dance or purchase her cap & gown

She made this dress herself.

Her parents (or parent) must be proud.
I believe they also said she was not wearing "underwear". That just screams CLASSY!

Half her feaking boob was hanging out for cripes sake! She should have be banned from the dance IMO, talk about Hoochiefied:doh:

She knew what she was doing. There is no way she couldn't have expected to be refused entry in that dress. Her other complaint is that even after she tried to cover up that they wouldn't let her in ... well ... DUH ... all she wanted to do was wrap the little gold train around her. Just an invitation for a WARDROBE MALFUNCTION.

There's got to be more to this story than this. She most likely put up some sort of fight.
i think that is what happened.
Marche Taylor said the only choices she was given but go home or go to jail.
she said they argued then she was given the choice. seems like she refused to accept the choice the school made.

once she refused to leave she was cuffed not for being a *advertiser censored* but for trespassing.

That is what I was thinking...what is the difference in dressing like that on a prom date or in class?
You're warned, regardless....
She HAD to have put up some kind of fight for her to be put in cuffs...School chaperones would NOT have automatically called the cops to have her put in cuffes...there HAD to have been SOME kinda scene made.

:laugh::laugh::laugh:

My daughter wouldn't have gotten out of the bathroom in that dress.
PUHLEASE!

I wouldn't have allowed my daughter out of the house in this dress. Where was the mother of this girl, did anybody else notice that there was no mention of parents? strange...

She made this dress herself.

If she made this herself, well she is VERY talented and should audition for "Project Runway." She may stand a chance on there....
But this IS a high school prom, and innappropriate, IMO....
OMG I love my 2 daughters to death AND beyond, but I would NEVER allow them to dress like this for a school dance....
it's just too much, there is NO need for that much skin to be shown at a high school prom.

From what I'm reading, she demanded a refund and refused to leave and that's why the cops were called.

I thought it looked a bit like she wrapped a curtain around herself a couple times.
