I'd like to understand the following from ZuZu's mother. It's not a direct quote from her mother in the article.

Zuzu's mother says that she still hadn't heard from her come Friday. She then called Zuzu's boyfriend, who said he also hadn't heard from her.
Verk tells CBS 7 News that Zuzu's boyfriend said she never showed up for her mid-term exam on Wednesday and she missed her shift at work.

Did ZuZu's boyfriend check around for ZuZu after her mother called on Friday and find out that she hadn't showed up for her midterm or work OR was he aware on Wednesday or Thursday that she hadn't shown up but he didn't try to contact her or raise the alarm? I'm not trying to throw suspicion on the boyfriend, but there's a big difference between the two scenarios IMO.

Has anyone said if her car is missing?

Who saw her last? She went missing in the early morning hours. What does that mean? She went to the movies with her boyfriend and some friends. Then what? The story just kind of drops off right there. Did they go home and go to bed? Did he wake up in the morning and she was not there?

Alpine police asking if anyone saw certain vehicles the night Zuzu disappeared. Where are you Zuzu??

From that link: "Anyone with information about seeing a grey 2006 Jeep Liberty and a 2004 Mazda Miata convertible with a beige top being driven between the hours of midnight and 10:00 am on Wednesday October 12, 2016, are urged to contact Alpine Police Department at (432) 837-3486."

I wonder who owns those cars?

This is so worrisome. I pray for the best but fear for her life.

Maybe I have become too cynical after all the years here on WS, but my rule-out scenario is: words after the Movie on Tuesday night, BF blows up and harms her.
Maybe she had driven her car to his place and they went to the movie together from there? Maybe that's why the car issue and he got rid of it?

All just my cynical supposition of course. But it just smacks of a scenario we have seen here way too often. I will continue to pray that my gut is wrong of course :candle:

Where are you Zuzu, you vibrant young lady? Praying for you.

Comments on the Alpine Police FB page give information we can't talk about...yet...but file for future reference. APD says there is no search scheduled for 10/17. A lot of territory was covered Sunday.

The person she was last known to be with and who is said to have reported her missing. Comment by KC 10/14.

ETA: It appears from the photo in this article that the convertible is Zuzu's, as the comment on FB said.

I live in Alpine and have talked to several people. Now, this is juat a rumor, but it's been said that Zuzu and her boyfriend had an argument the morning she was last seen. Also, that said boyfriend left to visit his mother in Mexico the same day.

About the vehicles, the car is said to be Zuzu's which was still in her driveway.

I'm worried as well. Who reported her missing? From the wording of the article it sounds like the mother called the BF and he advised her that she hadn't shown up for midterms. So why didn't he call the parents or report her missing.

I am very familiar with this part of Texas. For people who have never been there, it is very isolated and desolate. There is rather heavy border patrol presence which monitors some of the more rural areas so I am thinking that may be how she is found.

I do not have a very good feeling about this unfortunately. If the boyfriend did leave the next day to "visit his mom in Mexico" then I think we all know what happened here.

In the comments, the girl KC clarifies that the mother and aunt were dropped off at the airport, he didn't go, but I know it hasn't been said in MSM. I am really concerned for her. I also think it's a bit strange that she is not friends on fb with the last person she was seen with. Waiting 4-5 days to report her missing seems really odd as well considering she seems like a very stable and happy person. That's just my opinion.

This is interesting. An earlier article said that her boyfriend told ZuZu's Mom she hadn't shown up for her exam or work. Journalist error or does her Mom just mean she hasn't heard from the boyfriend since their original conversation? I suspect journalist error in the first story. JMO

According to Zuzu's mother Lori Verk, Zuzu went out to the movies with a group of friends and an on-again off-again boyfriend Tuesday night. Lori adds that along with not hearing from Zuzu, she also hasn't heard from the boyfriend.

There is a train station in Alpine that is an actual passenger train stop. I am pretty sure that the train departs around midnight* and arrives at San Antonio at dawn. For being a remote Texas town, there is actually a very easy way to leave without a car. I am also pretty sure this is the train that goes from Los Angeles to New Orleans. Sorry I would need to research it more. A person could easily walk from the college area to the train stop.

*Edit: never mind it departs at 8:45 pm
