Found Deceased UK - Caroline Everest, 18, Sheffield, 22 Nov 2015

So she was due in work on Sunday but didn't turn up. I was assuming she only missed work on the Monday. Very worrying.

** Edinlass - yeah noticed that earlier. :shakehead:

Glad her address has been confirmed as I sluethed it from a Facebook comment. So now it public we can get it on a map. It is 15-17 min on foot, in the centre. I'm going to see if I can work out alternative routes she might have followed. Please let Carrie be safe :tears:

There will be CCTV footage of her if she started walking home. I just had a little wander about the area of the club (on google streetview!) and it's not the sort of place I'd want to be in the dark but I did spot several cameras. There are no other bars or restaurants close by so aside from anyone leaving the club at the same time there wouldn't be many people about. And it is walkable from there to her home, but again, not a part of town you'd want to risk it. Lots of industrial units and office blocks, typical outskirts of a city, but likely to have lots of CCTV cameras which if course will prove how far she got.

Oh, and no water whatsoever between Corporation and her home on Fitzalan Square.

Worried

I can get started on a map in a few minutes if you want me to?

I'd take the spiking accusations with a big pinch of salt. Lots of rumours were spread about Karen Buckley being spiked (there were claims her friends saved the glass) and it was nothing of the sort.

Ugh I do hope this doesn't turn out like Karen Buckleys case.

I've no idea if spiking drinks is prevalent in clubs. My son tells me it's best to carry your glass with you or drink from a bottle now to avoid the chance of spiking ! Sounds dreadful.

Is it common? Anyone know about such things? She sounds a sensible, academic girl, not one to cause family such heartache by going off deliberately..

She should have been found by now in what is a small area between club and lodgings. Very concerned for her.

Apparently, drink spiking using drugs is really, really rare: http://www.theguardian.com/science/...ate-rape-drug-facilitated-sexual-assault-dfsa

I even found some other articles where respected forensic scientists called it an 'urban myth'.

I think that the form of spiking that uses alcohol - e.g. by buying someone a double/triple shot and telling them, or letting them think, it's a single - is much more common.

Hey it happens all the time, I had it happen before. So they saved "a" glass, but was it the one? I'll not take any "spiking" accusations with a big pinch of salt. I'll believe it as much as any other "news" stories I read. If it was a bunch of friends I'd believe it more.

Subscribing but cant see anything new to add, other than please let Caroline be found safely and soon.

No girl should EVER be escorted -politely or otherwise - from a club alone. Either friends should be located by the staff or someone should be contacted to collect them or failing that, police called if the person is that drunk.

I really do hope she is safe but very worried.

Exactly !

Hope this comes out OK. A lovely photo of Caroline.

I feel so worried about this girl, something is not right :(

Spiking does happen occasionally, but I've often heard people claim they "must have been spiked" when in fact they've just drank too much too quickly. Of course, it's better to act like it's more prevalent than it is, by keeping your drink close/drinking from bottles rather than glasses, etc., but I always take mentions of drink spiking with a pinch of salt [like my tequila ;)]

I agree.

This whole thing feels terrible to me already.

The sad part again in these cases "separated from friends" - lets hope she is found

I hope not it was terrible what happened to Karen. I hope and pray Caroline has a different outcome. Thanks for all your updates.

Two observations- press and police are very quick to be on the case... more info or something on CCTV? No idea but usually we do not hear about cases like this until a few days later.

Worked in clubs for years. Nobody should be left in any state- but sometimes the females can be more aggressive than the males. Saw a guy beat his girlfriend in an alley and the security pulled him off her to assist her and she flew at them and tried to scratch them and beat them for touching him- never seen anything like it in my life. Also you need female security to assist young female girls to be safe. Not saying this is the case here- just the nightly life of security staff. If she was spiked with something that made her aggressive, they may well just leave her to her own devices- instead of calling the police and drama- not saying it is right- I have just seen it a hundred times.

Now they say she went to the 'staff room'- not the door, not a bouncer, not security- did she work there or have a bf there? Or a friend working there? Staff room is usually a small enough space tucked away and restricted- you would not get to walk in with out security knowing you to see at least. Not the first aid guys also... Could be the way it was reported or could be something else.
