I noticed in the press reports from earlier today that the D/E family have been given back the keys to their home. So it's not a crime scene.

I wonder if Dorset Police went fishing and got the desired bite? i.e informed all concerned what they were about to say at the press conference and someone fessed up/caved?

Talk about mixed messages from Sky....Presenter saying Police are treating the case as murder!? Reporter saying they are reluctant to do so!

I hope it was for genuine reasons. The press won't take kindly to ruses or being messed around.

Don't think so. I think they may have to leave it secure but I doubt if they would redecorate or clean off the mess they make with their forensic equipment.

I'm in the USA....which is why I ask. Why should innocent people have to pay out of pocket for their home being torn apart while under suspicion? We don't know yet if the E family is innocent, yet, but if they are I hope LE does the respectful act of restoring any damage done to the homes.

I've not found anything about ripping your plumbing apart, however if the police put your door through while acting lawfully (eg if they have a warrant) you pay for the repair whether you're innocent or not. They only compensate in that case when they get the wrong address. Which apparently happens quite frequently.

I'm going to guess the D/E's need a plumber.
