UK - Robyn Mercer, 50, murdered, Surrey, 14 March 2016

How very odd. The report I linked to re the anniversary of RM's murder has completely disappeared. The only bit that we now have is the copy and pasted paragraph in my post to Tortoise.

Robert Webb is on bail and will appear at Kingston Crown Court on 28th March but it is for fraud. So everyone connected so far with this crime is on bail. It looks as though the police are struggling to find anyone to blame for the murder.

Robert Webb, the man accused of forging his murdered ex-partner’s will has had his court appearance delayed

It’s alleged he forged the will of Robyn Mercer, who was found dead in West Molesey last March.

Webb was charged with fraud by false representation.

The 53 year-old, was due to appear at Kingston Crown Court this morning but that has now been pushed back to April.

Another delay - would be good to know the reason why , although I dont think it is ever published.

Robyn Mercer murder investigation: Boyfriend appears in court accused of forging her will
Robert Webb, 53, is accused of altering Robyn Mercer's will to get full ownership of their home

NEWS
Robyn Mercer was murdered outside her home in Walton Road

The boyfriend of an antiques dealer who was bludgeoned to death as she put the bins out has appeared in court accused of forging her will.

Robert Webb, 53, allegedly altered the last will and testament of Robyn Mercer to get full ownership of their £420,000 home, the court heard.

The body of Ms Mercer, 50, was on the driveway of her Walton Road home in West Molesey on the morning of March 14 last year.

The mother-of-two had been attacked repeatedly with an axe or machete.

A post-mortem examination revealed Ms Mercer had been hit once to the front of the head and then struck several times while on the ground.

Mr Webb, of Walton Road in West Molesey, appeared at Kingston Crown Court on Monday (April 10) after being charged with an offence of fraud by false representation.

It is alleged that he falsified the will of Ms Mercer on or before September 20 last year.

Judge Susan Tapping set a trial date of August 7 at Kingston Crown Court.

I can't find any mention of the trial.

The only reference I can find to him in the court listings is another appearance at Kingston Crown Court on July 25th. No newspaper reports about it though.

Robyn Mercer murder investigation: Man arrested and search warrant executed.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of an antiques dealer.

Robyn Mercer, 50, was killed by someone using either an axe or a machete, outside her home in West Molesey, Surrey.
The body of the mother-of-two, a silver specialist with a west London firm, was found at the end of her driveway in Walton Road, early on 14 March 2016.

Police said the man was detained on Thursday, and later released while inquiries continue.

A post-mortem examination revealed Ms Mercer had died the night before.

She had been struck once to the front of the head and then several more times while she was lying on the ground.

Just after the bf's trial for forging her will was supposed to start. And the arrested person lives in Walton Road.

It did cross my mind that it could be the BF. The house in Walton Road has been searched for two days but I did think the police would have searched the house Robyn shared with the BF at the time of the murder. RW was at that time thought to have been involved. His trial for fraud seems not to have got underway. I hope we are not going to be waiting another year for something positive to come out of this.

The Get Surrey report states that the house was worth half of what the Daily Mail states. Knowing the area, I would suggest the semi detached home would be more likely to be in the £400,000 range than the £800,000 range but I could be wrong.

I have been looking at current prices for the area where Robyn lived. Some of the houses that have not been upgraded, ie 2 or 3 bed SD's, are around £450,000 but those who have extended into the loft and possibly to the back are indeed selling for much more.

Brother’s doubts over sister’s doorstep murder which cops claim was burglary gone wrong, as ex-lover faces jail for will forgery

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/44769...ng-as-ex-partner-faces-jail-for-will-forgery/

Webb has admitted forging Robyn’s will to get her share of the £850,000, five-bedroom house in West Molesey.

And in an exclusive interview with The Sun, Robyn’s brother Quentin Spickernell has spoken about his anger over the fraud case.

He said last night: “Robyn and Robert lived under the same roof but she wanted him out and had made it abundantly clear to him."

“Robyn had got her lawyer to send Robert an ultimatum to pack and vacate by a set date or the matter would be taken further."

“She was murdered four days before that date to leave the house arrived."

It is evident that Robyn’s brother thinks Robert Webb is involved in some way. Maybe he and her children were all “plugged in” to their music/games or watching a noisy TV programme – who knows??

It seems as though the house had been extended, certainly into the roof as it is now quoted as a 5 bedroom house whereas initially these properties were council house stock and typically two or three bedrooms.

It's his sentencing tomorrow.

What I don't get is why the witnesses were even witnessing a will after her death, whether they thought Robyn had signed it or not. It wouldn't be valid if she hadn't had it witnessed before her death, so they were complicit in a crime too by witnessing the will.
