This is such a tragedy.

I heard the gunman had 2 9mm guns that held clips in the handle. That is how he could shoot so many people in such a short amount of time. This is a common gun used by LE. He was looking for his GF and lined the students up in a row and proceeded to shoot them in a classroom.

Wow, I just got my info re 25 dead from Drudge (and then confirmed it thru one of the articles)... and now it's up to 29. Unbelievable. And so horribly sad.

Hi Shadow! Great to see you... it's been a long time since we've been posting on the same thread. I grew up in Virginia (although not Blackburg), so was immediately caught by this headline. I'm just sick to hear so many young lives have been snuffed out over, no doubt, someone's misdirected anger.

Thanks, Scandi, on the update re the shooter taking his own life. The last report I read couldn't confirm that. Glad he "off'ed" himself to spare anymore loss of life.

The school paper if you follow that link says three people were escorted from one of the buildings in handcuffs. I wonder why.

Hi Shadow, How do you figure? Naturally since I turned it to FOX they have given no numbers. I also think many of who they have listed as dead now were originally injured, don't you? Scandi

I read somwhere that the shooter was an Asian male. It looked to me like the people escorted from the building were all Asian in appearance. They probably had a physical description from the early reports of the shooting and these three were mistakenly apprehended because they looked Asian. This would possibly explain the early reports of "a suspect in custody", but then latter reports that the suspect was dead. The early reports were probably in error and referred to one or more of the three Asian males apprehended in error. I bet the suspect shot himself as the police approached him.

Fox reporting that 32 have died thus far. Keep in mind the number of deaths changes from channel to channel.

Hmmm, I was figuring 32 dead + 28 injured = 60. You could be right though that some of the 32 could have originally been in the count of 28 injured. I am just really having a heck of a time getting my brain to process this one.

MSNBC still reporting 22 dead, 28 injured and they usually are pretty accurate. Guess we'll know more as the day goes by.

Just editing to add they now are reporting 31 dead.
