WA/Canada - Human feet washing ashore

Don't know if this is related but it sure is strange. A foot was mailed to the head quarters of Canada's conservative ruling party. The package seemed to be suspicious due to what appeared to be blood stains.
There is mention that a dismembered body had recently been found but they do not know if it is related. All of the body was not found.
This is in Montreal, so it is not in the area where the feet washed ashore.

It has to do with this link below. Its breaking news all day long. Living in the area where the horrific crimes that were commited by Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo, this community will never live in peace. They keep coming back to haunt everyone. Someone posted an update in KH's thread. I feel horrible for the parents of Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy, the victims of KH and PB and anyone else that was victimized by them.

Montreal police have identified a young man with a disturbing online profile in connection with the discovery of a man’s torso whose hand and foot were mailed to Ottawa through Canada Post. Pictures of Luka Magnotta taken from the website luka-magnotta.com.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - One of the five feet that have mysteriously washed up on the shores of British Columbia over the past year has been linked to a depressed man who went missing a year ago, police said Saturday.

A sixth discovery last month turned out to be a hoax, with an animal paw stuffed inside a shoe.

I think you are right-on. The remains washing up are from the Tsunami in Japan. There will be more sad to say they lost thousands. I am puzzled the law enforcement has not reached this conclusion. Forensic examination will determine if the remains are asian. So sad! skier

Hi there, The first post here has a link to March 2008 when feet began washing ashore in Canada. It is so sad. I'm going to review this thread as I have lots of questions, mainly are they mostly washing up in the same area? Wouldn't you think LE would know how the tides and current run there which would give them a big clue as to their origin?

It could be some weirdo who lives in a house on a waterway and after he kills someone he throws their feet into the sea as an offering or some such thing.

I'm amazed they haven't solved the case in all this time - 5 years!!!

Don't know if anyone has posted this yet but there is a National Geographic documentary " Mystery of the Disembodied Feet" on this subject that I found to be very interesting. It also detailed the forensic work that went on to try and identify the feet. I watched it at this link:

There has been another one. This makes thirteen.

The Daily Mail account at link:

Shoes with severed feet inside them keep washing up in the Pacific Northwest:
New Balance sneaker with rotting foot is SIXTEENTH to be found in nine years

⁍ A couple walking on a beach on Vancouver Island found a New Balance sneaker with a foot still inside on Sunday
⁍ Authorities have told the public not to worry about the trend
⁍ Of the 13 feet found in Canada, 10 have been identified and linked to suicides or accidents
⁍ Foul play is not suspected in any of the unsolved cases, but it hasn't been ruled out either
⁍ A coroner says person last wearing latest sneaker probably died sometime between March 2013 and last December
⁍ Investigators will now test the remains and try to connect the DNA to missing-persons cases within that time period

Hmm, very interesting. Reminds me of the three severed feet found in a garden in Bath, UK. Apparently, one of the three feet in the garden was probably used for a medical/anatomical specimen. I haven't found any word of the other 2; but I just quickly Googled them. That's probably been brought up already, but I can't read the whole thread right now.

Wonder if these feet are from suicide victims?

I'm not sure if it's ok to link it, but there is a very interesting 'National Geographic Explorer' episode that covers this mystery. If you search NGE 'mystery of the disembodied feet' on Youtube, you'll find it. There is an interesting discussion of running shoe bouyancy and the effect of currents on decomposition.
