HATLEY — A dinner will be held Dec. 11 to raise money for the search and a reward in connection with the disappearance of a missing Wausau woman.
Wausau Police are investigating the disappearance of Stephanie Low, 22, who has not been seen or heard from since Oct. 10. In previous interviews with the Daily Herald, Low’s mother said her daughter would not willingly be out of contact with family and friends for a long period of time.

The dinner will begin at 4 p.m., Dec. 11, at Lakeside Bar and Ballroom, 1408 Highway Y in Hatley. The cost is $5 per plate. Live music will follow at 7 p.m. and raffles and a silent auction will be held throughout the evening.

this is only 25 miles or so from where Kayla Berg disappeared isn't it?

Actually, Kayla Berg disappeared about 20 blocks north of Stephanie's apartment. Her adult friend and Kayla were smoking pot before (he said) he dropped her off at an unoccupied condemned building. He lawyered up right after she disappeared.

Her father's home in Antigo is 20 miles from Wausau where she was picked up from and driven to Wausau

Kayla went missing near 1010 East Wausau Avenue, near Colonial Manor. Stephanie went missing from 701 1/2 Thomas St. Both addresses are in Wausau and a couple blocks east of the Wisconsin River.

Interestingly, Stephanie and her friends were drinking that night at the Paradox Bar, a bar known for major drug activity.

Breanna Schneller was recently murdered in Wausau and an online police statement showed that her boyfriend, brother and the illegal alien murderer had bought some cocaine the night before the murder at that same bar and had used it.

If you check Stephanie's Wisconsin Circuit Court Access records you'll see she was busted for felony possession of narcotic drugs and her boyfriend was busted for felony manufacture/delivery of cocaine, robbery with threat of force and other not-so-nice crimes.

The common theme running through these Wausau murders and disappearances is drugs. A logical thing to do when you're terrified and someone is threatening your life is to call the police. When you're possibly involved in illegal activities you don't call the police.

IMO, this case will turn out to be drug-related and probably death-related. I'm sure her friends she was out with know what happened, as does her brother, whom she called.

What is happening to all of these young women? =/ Prayers she is found soon.
Where are they? :banghead:

The family of Stephanie Low, the missing Wausau woman, held a benefit on Saturday night to help raise money to find her.

Low has been missing since October 10th.

In some cases, no news is good news.

That's not the case in the disappearance of Stephanie Low.

Her family continues to wait for information from the police.

Holidays a painful time for families of missing persons

Hope Sprenger and Claudia Blake both had the same wish on their Christmas lists this year, and neither was able to cross it off: They wanted their daughters back.

The disappearances of Sprenger's daughter, Kayla Berg, 17, of Antigo and Blake's daughter, Stephanie Low, 22, of Wausau have put a damper on Christmas for the two girls' families. The girls' return, an arrest or a big break in the investigation of their disappearances does not appear to be imminent, leaving the families this holiday season to wonder what has happened and where on Earth their daughters might be.

Missing woman's family offers reward

Three months after Stephanie Low of Wausau went missing, her parents are offering a reward to anyone who can provide information that helps police find her.

Claudia Blake and George Low collected $3,000 through a Dec. 18 fundraiser and are hopeful the money will entice someone to come forward with details about Low's disappearance.

Blake, who described her family as working class, said she and George Low had to wait until they raised money before they could offer an award because they had little cash themselves. "Do I wish I had more? There may be more coming in the future, but we're working with what we have," Blake said.

Stephanie Low: Nancy Grace America's Missing

Four months later, what happened to the 22-year-old Wausau woman remains a mystery.

She had been out with others earlier that night, but when her friends went to her apartment looking for her later, she was gone. She left her two dogs alone without food or water, which friends and relatives say would be very much out of character for her. Family members have said Low received threats before she went missing, and police say they have reason to believe she was taken against her will. Low’s family has searched local rivers and parks for any sign of her and the state crime lab has analyzed evidence taken from her apartment, but with investigators running out of leads, her parents recently appealed to the public for help, offering a $3,000 reward for information that leads to her whereabouts.

NG tonight. Video may be on YouTube later or transcript may be on NG site shortly.

Wausau, Wisconsin

Police said they have her on video leaving a bar at about 12:15 am.10/10/10

She called a family member ( I believe was her brother ) at 12:38AM 10/10/2010 asking for someone to come stay with her, then she abruptly hung up. She did not make any more calls.
She was afraid and said she was getting threats.

Blood stains on bed, night stand, the sheets & pillows missing as well as one of her bedroom slippers.
By the time the family got to her apt, she was already gone. Family had to break lock to get in.
Dogs were unattended, uncharacteristic of her. Purse and wallet at apt, but keys and cells phones were missing. She had 2 cell phones and had made 40 calls earlier that night before the last 12:38AM call to brother.

Police have taken 10 polys so far.

Eric Maholmes (sounds like) is ex boyfriend. - arrested in past for crack coke and was in county jail when she went missing.

Discussing WHY she called her brother for a ride instead of 911. Marc Klaas said he thinks she may have been involved with some unsavory people based on the company of the old boyfriend who was in to drugs.

Police said they had 10 people they talked to about taking polygraphs, but that Wisconsin law prevents them from talking about results or whether tests were actually taken.

Also, Stephanie had made as many as 40 calls in the last hour or so before she disppeared, and hundreds of calls that week, from two cell phones she used.

I think she was taken/killed/harmed as a result of drug dealing from that apartment...her BF has a three-foot long record of arrests, most recently crack cocaine distribution charges. He just happened to be in jail since the night before for a parole violation, so either his enemies took advantage of the timing, or he sent people in to harm her.

Whether or not Stephanie was involved in taking drugs herself, she was involved with a very unsavory man and was in a dangerous lifestyle. I think someone was ripped off, or was ripping off.

On another note, Stephanie's mother gave a heartbreaking plea, telling her daughter how much she loves her, at times she can't breathe, her life is on hold, etc...when Jean C. asked her what she wanted to say to her daughter, something we did not really see when Nancy asked Billie Dunn what she wanted to say to Hailey...

oh yeah, you can bet your left leg that this is drug related and she was killed (now we know of reports of blood on the bed) because she had infringed on someones territory or someone felt ripped off. TWO mobiles and hundreds of calls, forty that night alone! I also think it highly suspicious that the ex is in jail that night for a parole violation, gives him an airtight alibi to cover if he did arrange her death.

why do these girls get involved with this crap and these people, they think they are having fun and maybe have lots of money and know people with lots of money but you are hanging with scumbags and no one can be trusted, not a way to live if you ask me.

Watching Stephanie's case on NG's Missing - her mother's plea just broke my heart.

Bumping for Stephanie ...

I think you are right about it being drug related. Such a sad case to think about. A young woman involved with some really dangerous people who likely didn't really care about her and harmed her. I just wish the truth to come out about what happened to her so her family can find some peace. Somebody knows what happened that night and needs to fess up.

The family of a missing Wausau woman hopes putting her picture on billboards across central Wisconsin will lead to a tip that brings her home.

Low's picture is on digital billboards along Highway 29 in Weston, Business Highway 51 in Schofield and seven other billboards on Highway 29 between Chippewa Falls and Green Bay, accompanied by a plea for people to provide information to police, said Low's father, George Low of Birnamwood.
