This took me to an article about Lisa Stebic.

I went back and found the article on Yahoo. It now has the story on Avery with pictures of Lisa's sisters. :waitasec:

Avery's lawyers asked for a new trial last month, saying the jury's verdict was "inconsistent and irreconcilable

Manitowoc County Circuit Judge Patrick Willis said in a Tuesday hearing that he was not aware of any Wisconsin case law that allowed a judge to overturn a jury's verdict for inconsistency.

The monster Avery might as well face facts...he is in prison for the rest of his life

Live on NBC 26 out of Green Bay: Brendan Dassey sentenced to life in prison but eligible for release for extended supervision on 1 November 2048. Judge noted that he is eligible, but whether that is granted at that date remains to be seen.

Don't know if there is yet a link.

MANITOWOC (WFRV) - Brendan Dassey will have a chance at parole. But, it won't be for 41 years. A judge in Manitowoc County today sentenced the 17-year-old to life in prison with a chance for parole in 2048.
Brendan Dassey showed up in court today for his sentencing and repeated what he has been saying all along - that he could never do anything like what he has been accused of doing.

I am thankful that he was found guilty I only wish that this would be broadcast in all middle schools. So sad none of it should ever of happened.

Steve Avery claims he was framed. I caught a bit of it on TV the other night. Why we have to give this dog airtime is beyond me. Sure he was framed....

Steven Avery's Letters to TODAY'S TMJ4 Claim Kratz Killed Teresa Halbach
By Heather Shannon

Snip
Avery's latest two letters claim that former Calumet County District Attorney Ken Kratz is the killer. Kratz prosecuted the Avery case. Kratz is currently under fire for sending sexually inappropriate text messages to a crime victim, and resigned as district attorney. We checked to make the sure the letters are from Avery, who is serving a life sentence in Boscobel, and his girlfriend confirmed the letters were sent by Avery.

Steven Avery's appeal denied in 2005 homicide

Steven Avery went from hero to murderer in just two years. He was released from prison in 2003 after spending nearly two decades behind bars for a rape he didn't commit, but in 2005 was charged with helping murder 25-year-old photographer Teresa Halbach.

I assume spending 2 decades behind bars with REAL criminals, enduring abuse and God knows what other nightmares in prison, the resentment of having your life taken away from you for a crime you didn't commit AND people still looking at you like a criminal when you get out, might create a criminal out of someone who at one point had a chance for a good life.
Plus, I've read reports that people who spend that long in jail can not adjust to outside life and want to go back to their existence behind bars because that's all they've known their entire adult life.
What a horrible thing to be wrongfully accused. Horrible shame. :(

snipped from appeal

Avery was charged on November 15, 2005, with first-degree
intentional homicide and mutilation of a corpse. The complaint was later amended
to include possession of a firearm by a felon.

snipped from above article

Avery argued on appeal that he should have been allowed to blame others for her death, that police unlawfully searched his trailer home and a that judge improperly replaced a juror during deliberations. The 2nd District Court of Appeals rejected all three arguments.

I don't have sympathy for this murdering idiot. I think Scott Peterson is guilty too.

Well, I have sympathy for the man he could have been if we wasn't wrongfully accused and sent to jail for 24 years!
The man he turned out to be? Not so much.

Yes I agree, but now he has tainted any chance of gaining a lawsuit against them because they now have proof that he's a . That's what will happen sadly.
