WY WY - Kristi Richardson, 61, Casper, 6 October 2014

"While there are still many areas to investigate in this case, the Richardson family has approached the police department and requested an opportunity to offer a reward for any information leading to the location of Kristi and the future conviction of any person that may be involved in criminal acts that contributed to her disappearance," said a police statement distributed at a press conference."

"Substances taken from Richardson's bed are currently being tested at the state crime lab, according to Capt. Steve Freel. No results were available."

"The hard part of this case is that she is literally the only thing missing from her home," Capt. Steve Freel of the Casper Police Department told FoxNews.com. "This is truly going back to 1950s police work."

Richardson, the longtime owner of a trucking business in Casper, was last seen on Oct. 6 when she drove to her daughter's home -- on the same block -- to drop off a birthday card and visit her grandchildren. Phone records show that later that day, at 7:45 p.m., Richardson took a routine phone call from one of her drivers. The next call to Richardson's phone, at 11 p.m. and from a vendor that does business with Richardson Trucking, went unanswered...

Freel said he is looking at several possibilities, including that Richardson might have been targeted by a current or former employee of Richardson Trucking, a well-known trucking company she owned with her late husband since 1979. Freel said detectives are also investigating employees at competing companies in the investigation, noting that a booming oil and gas industry has brought an influx of people and new businesses to the area. But he still can't say that a crime has even been committed.

"She's very strong-willed in running that trucking company," Fazio added. "It was her life."

Sad. Sure doesn't sound like she was 'flighty' or irresponsible ! Hope they find her soon; and that she's ok.
If it was ransom, someone would have contacted the family by now. imo.

Reminds me of the lady who was killed while out jogging in the early morning ... Sherry Arnold. :(
Except it could be someone was in her home, waiting for her.
:moo:

Bumping for Kristi

Several folks in the Casper area are loosing their jobs due to the price of oil right now or are having their hours and wages cut back. If anyone knows anything and is in a crunch for cash in the upcoming months, I hope they talk and Kristi can be found. The reward is at $45,000.00 I am sure that someone knows a small detail that could make this case come to a conclusion.

This news story is the first thing I have seen or heard in weeks. It's not good news to have a'person of interest,' but at this point I don't think there's a strong possibilty of good news in any case.

From your link:

Daley wrote in her affidavit that the current person of interest had been interviewed before, had previously worked for Richardson’s company, and denied being in her neighborhood on Oct. 6.

He had wanted a romantic relationship with Richardson before her husband died two years ago, and then again after he died. She turned him down both times.

“Officers located letters written by [the man] to Richardson discussing how Richardson had broken [his] heart, and describing his frustrations for Richardson [sic] refusal to have a romantic relationship with him,” according to the affidavit.

Also from that article:

On Nov. 21, detectives interviewed him again. He he said he only uses his pickup for work and must have been driving his Isuzu the night of Richardson’s disappearance. However, detectives had confirmed he was driving his pickup that night.
Four days later, he called Daley. He told her he forgot that he had picked up an item in her neighborhood that night, but could not give give any information regarding this that could be verified, she wrote.

A love-struck stalker...........sounds like our guy.

There's nothing earth-shaking here, but CPD is now talking about more than one person of interest.

From your link:

But newly released affidavits dating back as far as the end of October show that investigators have been following leads from the beginning. Love letters discovered by the police led them to a former driver for Richardson’s trucking company, who admitted attempting to start an affair with the missing woman more than once.

But as K2 Radio News reported earlier, there is more than one person of interest in this case. The latest search warrant unsealed dates back to October 30th. It indicates that at least one rural property was searched after cadaver dogs that are specially trained to find human remains appeared to detect something. K2 News visited the property, approximately 16 miles outside of Casper, on Saturday.

According to a conversation with Chief Jim Wetzel of the Casper PD, the search produced nothing, but the document also indicated a vehicle was spotted by a neighbor at the Richardson house the night she disappeared. The truck is the same model as one owned by one of the persons of interest.

From what I personally know of the case, the love letters, as well as the rural property searched are related to the previously mentioned POI. This person has not been named publicly so I will refrain from giving a name. While the article above does mention they are looking at more than one POI, the details they give are specific to that one POI.

Does anyone think the other POI's might in some way be connected to the main POI that the news articles have been about? Maybe a friend or relative who "helped" in some way?

Kai, I was wondering the same thing. It would fit with having multiple POI's and still referencing the same evidence.

Possible human remains discovered in the Wolf Creek area
(Natrona County, Wyo.) – A discovery of possible human remains were alerted to the Sheriff’s office Sunday, May 3 in the area of Wolf Creek.

Details are still limited at this time but hikers discovered the remains, which appear to be human in nature, and appear to be only bones.

A few more details at the link.

This area would still be considered to be Casper and is not very far, a few miles as the crow flies, from Kristi Richardson's home. Praying that there are answers soon.

NamUs Link Posted on remains discovered in the Wolf Creek area

https://identifyus.org/en/cases/13803
Thanks for that link verdandie! I don't like seeing the Identification potential listed as only 2 out of 5 stars. I also wonder how long it will take to determine if the remains are male or female?

Namus has the estimated age as Pre 30, estimated height at 73 inches (6'1") and estimated weight at 185 pounds. This probably imo from what Namus has listed is not Kristi. There is a Seth Uptain missing from Casper that very closely fits these estimates. His profile shows he went missing in April 2010.
