Not by half. JM has consistently demonstrated that he genuinely understands who Travis was and what a loss his senseless murder was. There's no way he will allow the jury to see Travis solely through the twisted , evil , and polluted mind of his murderer.

I know, I guess I subscribe to the first impressions stick and all that, and I don't want seeds of crap implanted in their brains first. Plus I'm a worrywart and that doesn't help!

It makes a HUGE difference that all this jury has to weigh is mitigation.

Even if they believe the lie that her parents smacked her and that Travis hit her a few times and called her names she seemed to solicit, I find it difficult to believe they'll find that level of (mythical) abuse outweighs her savagery.

I'm optimistic they'll vote DP.

I'm here, sitting and reading all your wonderful comments. Considering that during the first go-round the defense put on less than zero mitigation (Jodi's allocution takes it into negative numbers), I will be fascinated to see what he puts on now. We have a few clues, but from this point on, anything goes.

I'm sure Juan is all warmed up and ready to pounce on every miniscule point at any time. It's going to be a free-for-all today.

The mentally ill little girl has to watch out they don't over-due it and take mitigation into the realms of total fantasy. Oh, wait, that's what they've done all along.

Seriously, the defense could really botch up the mitigation by over-doing the mentally ill part, the abuse part, the "evil Travis" part, etc.
