This is slightly off topic, but my cousins now ex wife lived a couple of doors down from Fred and rose west in the late 80's - early 90's. She NEVER suspected a thing and would knock on their door every now and then to borrow milk/sugar in winter when it was too cold to walk to the shops. After they were arrested she said on more than one occasion her and the neighbours had heard digging in their back yard at random times, and they literally thought nothing of it until they later realised that it was Fred burying the victims! My point is, you really just never know and I remember Keisha Abrams cousin being on FB shouting people down and protesting the mothers innonce and she soon ate her words!

From memory I think similar happened with the Sarah Cafferkey case. The neighbours heard him using tools *cringe* all hours of the night but didn't think much of it until it was found that he had killed her. It goes to show sometimes we should pay more attention to noises happening at strange times!

Exactly. So bizarre!

And waiting for DNA evidence is one thing we are all doing - but on the other hand, I'd suspect evidence on his computers would of been identified by now. Unless he is smart enough to do heavy encryption, which seems to be a concern with LE around pedophiles.

If it turns out he is such a person, who goes to great lengths to cover his tracks, then I'd be surprised. An accident or idiot opportunism I could believe, but not something sophisticated that is delaying the police arresting him.

Yes this is key. And even if it was before we have to remember the police were talking to BS before we knew. So it's possible that FACS got involved based on that, and they might of acted prematurely. They might of acted thinking "better safe than sorry".

The DNA evidence will clear all this quickly, when it's returned.

Worse case for BS .... the DNA is cleared, but suspicion remains due to coincidental FACS info, or dubious items found in his house/business. Because if that happens, the police wont speak to the media for a long, long time, and he will be left hanging even if innocent.

I wonder if WS was spoken to before we knew about just as a routine follow up given his involvement with the family/ home in regards to the whole washing machine repair job. Maybe even then LE were interested in him because of the details about spare parts he needed to fix the washing machine tied in with him being due at the house on the day WT disappeared. I would assume LE were talking to all kinds of people who had been anywhere near that house at that time. But maybe It might be that some of the times WS gave didn't match up, WS being at the cafe he said he was at at the time he said might have looked a bit sketchy, maybe something just didn't seem altogether right, so WS might have had someone keeping a little watchful eye on him and didn't like something they saw?

MSM reports that LE weren't aware of the FACS involvement leading to the removal of the grand children, so does that mean that two different bodies of authorities had non related concerns about WS?
It would make total sense for FACS involvement after the raids and WS being put in the spotlight, even if just to check on how the kids are coping or if it's appropriate for them to be exposed to it all. But why were they looking into things before the raid?
I was not sold on WS being involved at first. I thought he maybe got unlucky with a crimestoppers tip off from someone who didn't like him and that LE went in like a bull in china shop to make it look like finding WT was still a priority (since there was such a lack of action or even mention about WT in the last couple of months) ... But now that the care of his grandchildren is being questioned I think I better think it out again!

If BS knows he is innocent, then he might consider manning up and admitting to what he is actually guilty of, or why FACS took an interest.

Yes.... That is another way to see things. That would point to WS not necessarily being a bad guy, just being someone with an enemy or two... Which someone mentioned up thread is not that uncommon when you're involved with being granted care of other peoples children

Are we sure that any children were actually removed from the Speddings care? My interpretation of the media reports is that the children were staying with a family friend to avoid the media attention brought upon the Speddings recently. (e.g. the Spedding asked a friend to look after them while they deal with the media camping them out etc and limit the children's exposure - I imagine this is what most carers in their situation would do).

I am a little confused, if BS and MS are formal foster carers and there was any real suspicion of them doing the wrong thing those kids would be removed. It's not the same as trying to remove kids at risk in their parents home. FaCS are the guardians, they have the right to take the kids for any reason.
