I often wonder if Marcus gave Vincent the ideas and egged Vincent on to do the things he did and Marcus received vicarious pleasure from it.

Ms seems to be VS's only confidant and they became separated in Australia not on their own desire I'm sure, IMO. Like you, I assume the both twins were really accomplices more than we will ever know.

This is not intended to blame Vincent's mother or brother Luke, rather to support the notion that they must have had some knowledge of Vincent's hobbies;

Surely his mum would have opened his wardrobe at some point, to put away clothes etc in the normal course of daily life. Would she not think it odd to find a sexy female outfit?

Would his brother never once have wandered into Vincent's bedroom and seen what was on the screen?

Perhaps being a reclusive, strange family made it their 'normal'?

I also do not believe that Vincent began his stalking etc in Leeton.

I wonder about the neighbours who met Vincent when he busy was hanging his amount of washing up. A red bra (and her dress?) on the clothes line??? They did not draw conclusions from it, unfortunately, because he greeted nicely over the fence.

I'm always reading the thread backwards (from new to old posts) and now at this point I'm terrified to read the bbm above: the whole nation celebrated Stephanie's birthday like VS celebrated his evil fatal assault: with a cup of tea. Macabre somehow.

Hi From Germany, Vincent Stanford was reported to have killed Stephanie, left her on the floor in the dark store room, then went home and ate a cheese sandwich and cup of coffee for lunch (and possibly viagra), then went back to her body,etc. His was a depraved action of a dark, disturbed monster.

After the sentencing, Stephanie's mother and family asked the nation to celebrate their beautiful daughter and join with them in memory of her 28th birthday with a mint slice biscuit and cup of tea. The 'mint slice' was Stephanie's favourite biscuit. It's about letting the music and fun, the light and love i.e. the good things back in to our lives.

this transcript also as is usual, outlines the crime, the perpetrator, the timeline of the crime , the process gone thru to apprehend the perpetrator, an outline of the victims day , of her murder, the actual crime itself, in all it's elements, the location and routes taken during the crime, etc..

this is for you, FromGermany, you would have missed the televised judgement....this is nearly as detailed, it is, in words, but you don't get to see the curl of the judges lip..

He was terribly sloppy with his post-crime cleaning up. Leaving evidence on the ground, in his car, wardrobe, all across town. Taking pictures of the crime scene and saying I've been out taking pictures when the cops show up ... not to mention the stupid supermarket lie.

Amongst his lies he has shown a fair bit of candor with regards to his mental state - I know it is somewhat self-serving to come across as a breed apart but I think this is more honest than if he pretended to care or have remorse. His emotional landscape is post-apocalyptic. This was his one great hurrah after keeping a lid on it since his early teens and he claims to not even think of it. We would seriously doing us all, and him, a favour if he got a bullet to the head. He is not right and never will be and the risk is great.

I wish we could restore what was lost to Stephanie and her family, it is the one thing that spurns me on to believing in ongoing consciousness, that somewhere in space and time this can be made whole again for them.

I can't bear to read the trial's post mortem so I'll raise my (albeit very late) cup of tea and simply say 'Vale Stephanie. You didn't deserve a passing such as this.' To Stephanie's loved ones: 'Bless you all, all the days of your lives.'

This week Stephanie’s mother stood just a few metres away from Stanford. He didn’t glance at her once while she spoke, instead turning slightly away from the gallery where Mrs Scott, her husband Robert, their children and Mr Leeson-Woolley sat.

She told him they were going to remember their daughter, and forget all about him.

“We will endeavour to stop thinking about this person that has done this to our family. So much pain has been caused, so much damage has been done. Enough has been taken from us, and let this be an end to it. It is time to celebrate our daughter’s life, to dwell on the good things, to remember her humanity and her love of life.”

Stanford — who broke his neck when he was 10 fighting with his twin brother — confessed to being emotionless. Never been in love, felt indifferent to even his own family, and enjoyed the isolation of his cell in protective custody.
He told Dr Robilliard the company of others made him “stressful” and he didn’t believe he had the capacity to ever fit in with society...

It’s not something he’ll ever have to worry about again. His sentence of life in jail without parole means he will die in jail.

Our Worst Killers Deserve Death Row

THERE are some crimes so heinous that they remain scarred forever into the public’s collective memory. In the past decade or so there are three cases, in particular, that repulsed our nation: the murders of Jill Meagher, Daniel Morcombe and Stephanie Scott...

There is a bipartisan consensus across Australia’s political divide – both federally and at the state level – that the death penalty is one issue that does not merit consideration. I have never been a supporter.

But when I think about the killers of these three people, I struggle to see the arguments for keeping them alive. I’m not sure why they deserve to be housed at public expense, have access to things like television, an exercise yard, a ping-pong table, and a psychiatrist who pops in every so often to confirm that their dysfunctional minds are still not working. I’m not sure why they deserve to be fed three meals a day.

I reckon there is a very strong argument in favour of satisfying that sense of public vengeance by robbing these animals of their useless lives...

Article argues that there is a place for the 'Death Penalty'. In the above three cases, I am in solid agreement.

I support the death penalty for the worst sexual offenders and murderers; cases where guilt is proven beyond the shadow of a doubt, and where the offender shows no remorse - as we have here with Vincent. I don't want them put in taxpayer funded prisons where they are likely to be kept in protective custody, anyway.
