Authorities said the gunman, Stephen Paddock, used identification of Danley's at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, prompting authorities to track her down.

.....

Lombardo said she was currently in Tokyo, and investigators are arranging an interview.

.....

She was in Asia at the time of the shooting but is expected to return to the U.S. this week, and authorities are eager to find out what, if anything, she knew about Paddock’s plans.

Travel records obtained by ABC News show that Danley, who uses an Australian passport, travelled to her home country, the Philippines, two weeks before the shooting, on September 15. She flew from Manila to Hong Kong on September 22 and then returned to Manila three days later on September 25.

U.S. officials also want to know why Paddock has sent, according to law enforcement sources, tens of thousands of dollars to someone in the Philippines in recent months.

....

Paddock had been checked into in his Mandalay Bay hotel room on with his girlfriend's identification for three days before the attack.

Maybe he owed the casino money and couldn't use his own card ???? Maybe they cut him off for perks.

It’s a criminal offense to not pay your casino marker so we prob would have heard about it if he owed them money. JMO

I dont think this had anything to do with him losing money. I think he had carefully planned this out for maybe even months. He was spending his money as he wanted because he knew he wasn't going to be here to spend anymore. I even think in his own twisted way he may have used her player's card so he could build up her comps for the future.

This man had been a high roller for years. They are use to losing money and winning a lot of money.

I think he sent his girlfriend thousands for the same reason. He knew he wouldn't be here to give her the lavish lifestyle he had given her. That is IF that is where the money was going and she wasn't passing it on to someone else. I am glad that the Sheriff is back to calling her a POI. How could she not see over 40 firearms in the home she lived in with him or the bomb making material? He didn't just start buying all of these weapons right before he did the massacre.

One thing the Sheriff said today in the afternoon PC that jumped out to me and he mentioned they had to checkout if he had been radicalized. (paraphrasing) I just thought it was odd that he mentioned that.

Just found out that someone from my city (near Calgary) is one of the confirmed dead. My Facebook was flooded with her picture and for her to contact her friends and family if she was ok.
I didn't really know her but I know a lot of people who did. I guess she was was a teacher at one of the schools here.
This incident has affected people from not just the US, but Canada as well :(

I'm a "news junkie." I read from multiple news sites, watch multiple newscasts, and read three fact checkers every day. The Washington Post is the top of the top. If they make a mistake they correct it and retract it. In addition to the New York Times, WaPo is my go-to.

Many people consider it a reputable news source--many who do further research on their articles know they have an agenda and are in the business of serving up fake news . This, indeed, is sad and dangerous.

I never, ever believe ANYTHING I read without determining the agenda of the organization who published it and doing further research about the topic.

Sure it takes more time, but I think it's well worth it to be fully informed.

As the gunman, identified as Stephen Paddock, fired round after round, gun smoke filled his room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, said Randy Sutton, a retired lieutenant with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, citing police sources.

Ah! Something I bet he didn’t consider! He didn’t anticipate the fire alarms sounding I bet!

Also, it’s a wonder how he didn’t fall out one of those windows!

I doubt it. I bet he had the choice of the suite he wanted and it was comped. I think all the casinos would cater to him. He was known as one of the high rollers.

Why do you think he stopped shooting? Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad he did, but seeing the guns and ammo in the hotel room, he could have fired for a lot longer. CNN said he fired for 9 minutes straight but we know the cops didn’t get there for over an hour. Why do you think he stopped?

I think because he lost interest. Psychopaths need a lot of stimulation to feel something and quickly grow bored. It probably wasn't the buzz he was expecting, or it only lasted a short while.

He may have thought he had already been spotted. From what I read the casino security guard was at the door pretty quickly then they had to clear the floor and bring in the SWAT team. So he most likely was silent waiting for them to breach the door.

Aww. Poor guy. He’s already said how shocked he is. Totally understandable from someone who has just found out his brother is a psychopath. IMO.

I didn’t see any of his previous interviews so idk if there’s been a change in him throughout the past couple days. But I can’t imagine being the sibling of the man who just committed the worst mass shooting in the country. I don’t think there’s coffee in his cup, but I can’t say I’d blame him. But he might want to stop talking to the press for his own sake. JMO

I dont think it really matters. There are some that will read these sites and some who choose never to do so. I think its just up to the individual which sites they trust and which ones they don't. Its really a personal individual decision to make.

I worked today and there's no way to catch up on all the posts so I don't know if this has been posted yet but it's possible he may have initially planned to target a different festival but couldn't get a room overlooking the venue. I don't think it's been confirmed yet, however.
