I agree , she could have been high functioning alcoholic and that isn't dependant on the amount rather than the compulsion to drink. I dont know if this is correct place to add , if you watch the pleas of D C you will see him walk to the camera in an almost stiff manner , as to try and not look nervous. Also his head is shaking in a no motion towards the end of his plea. Just an observance I had. Sorry I am still working out how this forum works. 😄

I noticed the head shaking too...

I'm still on the fence about the husband. I'm actually leaning towards she staged her own disappearance/suicide (even though I didn't initially get suicide vibes)

As a mum of 2 primary aged kids myself I just can't fathom doing this to her kids BUT I have a family member who attempted suicide on many occasions (even when she knew her children would find her after school) so anything is possible.

I'm waiting to see what the backlash is over the leaked flyer. Also keen to see where the investigation will go today...looks like police stayed in the area overnight so maybe the did find something yesterday?

except he, the husband, worked in a major role for a massive hospitality company and is a board member of the aha, he could have easily have got her a ticket.

Even Matthew Richardson couldn't get any extra tickets!

Her pet dog, a black labrador, was believed to have been with her but last night was found in a neighbouring yard in a distressed state but uninjured. It’s now unclear whether Ms Curry went for a run as thought on Saturday evening.
It comes after a neighbour reported a possible sighting of a woman running without her dog on the Cliff Top Walk path at Sunnymead around 8am Sunday morning.

Sunnymeade is north of Aireys going toward Anglesea.

My family has a holiday house around the corner from Elisa's house and I have holidayed there every year for 20 years. I also wouldn't think anyone would head out for a run at night.

But running to Lorne is quite possible - I've walked from Aireys to Lorne several times. But you don't do it on the road, you time it so you can do it during low tide. What time was low tide on the Sunday?

Interestingly the first high tide on Sunday, 1 October 2017 (7:55AM 1.33m) coincided with ‘a neighbour report[ing] a a possible sighting of a woman running without her dog on the Cliff Top Walk path at Sunnymead[e] at around 8am on Sunday morning.’

Hello All, I am a first time poster and agree with so many holes in the timeline it’s difficult to know to what to make of the situation.

With reference to the dog, The Australian reported “The dog, which has been known to escape the yard and wander, has since been located.” So it may not mean much that the dog was out, only that she wasn’t around to notice and go looking for him.

She isn't listed in the results on the official website, which may suggest DNF, but surely this can't have been the case three times? And as others have pointed out, there is no trace online of her participation in any other running events, either. It's really very odd. The only explanation is either that she didn't participate in organised runs, or that she ran under an assumed name?

I searched the GOR marathon and there is only a Lisa Curry (not elisa) i think it is her, because of her team members - thanks

Hi all
Bohemian found it! Thanks Bohemian. I had forgotten that detail because I read it so early on in the piece but yes, Elisa used Lisa in everyday life:
"Friends have described Mrs Curry — known to friends as Lisa — as a “lovely person”" http://www.geelongadvertiser.com.au...e/news-story/71c5103d1c95652065d7173cb7b5b467

Put together, that is very interesting Bo.
FWIW, it apparently was a male neighbour that reported that sighting.

that's weird. What if they find her today? Odd thing to say right now IMO.
Even if they found remains today, it would take days if not weeks to determine cause of death and piece everything together.

Police may need to talk to him again and, depending on his account, perform another intensive search along the Cliff Top Walk path at Sunnymeade.

what if they found her alive? The quote was presumptuous IMO.

Remember when Greg Hutchings took his little 4-year old daughter, Eeva, and went to the beach to suicide and murder little Eeva.
It took weeks - 18 days - for them to be found. And they were within the approximate search area. They had walked there.

"The bodies were located secreted under a tree together. It is quite obvious that they have been deceased for a considerable period of time," he said.
"The cause of death will be a matter for the coroner. Identification will also be a matter for the coroner."

Crikey!! thanks for all the anecdotes of friends and family fiercely drinking and hammering the roads in marathon pursuits.. who knew??? I will never be able to watch a marathon again without wondering........ .... My experience with marathon runners was a husband and friends who only drank filthy stuff like blackcurrant leaf tea , ginseng concoction, and would have drunk my compost drippings had I allowed it. Alcohol was poison. I , often sampling some fine wines , was considered an heretic, a raving ratbag alcoholic, a spawn of satan and on the road to hell at warp speed,

My query is still this.. was she in running mode or drinking mode on the Sunday she disappeared.... He would know... the husband, that is. had she been at the bottle during that week of the school hols?. or out pounding the sand to Lorne?...

I have a lot of questions about (a) the flyer, and (b) it's content.. that it is reported that she was an alcoholic.... that sounds vague and unverified to me...more a suggestion , than a claim. And that 5/6 days into the search , that appears to be the first time police are made aware of this aspect of Mrs Curry. How odd is that? you would think that would be crucial info from the get-go.. it would certainly have had an impact on the search, drinkers can get into bizarre places.

It seems to me that Mr Curry gave information to the police that led them to be searching in a wide area, ( wide as far as a marathon runner would go ) from the house. Out to sea, along the coast road, which makes me think he portrayed her at the start, in Running mode... now.. it seems ... the search has tightened into a close circle from the house.. Drinking mode....

As to the Bikie gang stuff... gang culture , fringe criminal groups have always been associated with the hotel and gambling industry... Mr Curry would have had to deal with people of this ilk, his furry bunny booboo shy bloke demeanor at his one appearance for a public plea for help was at odds with how he would have had to conduct his business as CEO of the Hotel and Gaming industry....

Terrible case.

Every now and then I search to see if the coroner's report has been done but to no avail. Although I haven't looked for a while...

was it the grandmother who was on W/S for quite a while.. .. ? or an aunt? I think of her still to this day...

I guess though given it's been 5+ days they aren't expecting to find her alive...unless she is shacked up somewhere on a bender or having time alone.
