Babcock Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #5

I can't wait to see what DM will say to defend himself in WM's trial when he doesn't have MS to pin it on.
Now, the WM trial will be very interesting. IMO, we'll be seeing some female witnesses in that one that we haven't seen in the TB and LB trials.

For what it's worth, I just watched a crime specialist on CP24 state that he believes there's an 85% chance that DM will take the stand.

That could be interesting. We'll know today won't we?

WM trial will be very interesting. When you analyze the first two you see that the heart of both cases was Millard's phone records and texts. As he acted alone in the WM case it would seem that there will be limited info from his phone. I suppose we'll see evidence of the gun acquisition with Isho, but unless he bragged about it to someone I'm not sure where their evidence is going to come from.

I know calling CN would be a long shot, but I believe she has more to explain in this case than TB's MOO

From Bill's timeline

Apr 19 1:52 am Noudga texts Millard: "She's here and then she's not. Last time it was three days straight, morning and evening of bashing."
Apr 19 1:52 am Noudga texts Millard: "It was a headache."
Apr 19 1:57 am Millard texts Noudga: "I fancy myself something of an undercover doctor."
Apr 19 1:57 am Millard texts Noudga: "I think with the right treatment, these herpes can be gotten rid of."
Apr 19 1:58 am Noudga texts Millard: "Well Dr. Millard, how do you propose to remove the infectious disease
Apr 19 2:16 am Millard texts Noudga: "ha."
Apr 19 2:17 am Millard texts Noudga: "I think we're being harmed and irritated, harmed by toxins, toxins released by a parasite."
Apr 19 2:17 am Millard texts Noudga: "Removal of the parasite should alleviate the irritation. I will remove her from our lives."
Apr 19 2:24 am Noudga texts Millard: "I don't know why, but when you say things like, 'from her dealings with you...I'm going to hurt her...'"
Apr 19 2:24 am Noudga texts Millard: "'...make her leave, remove her from our lives...' I feel really loved and warm on the inside."
Apr 19 2:25 am Millard texts Noudga: "nothing like sinister insinuations to make you feel all warm and fuzzy?"

I'd love to see him asking himself questions, then answering "I don't remember" or "I can't recall".

Good morning, we are inside the courtroom at the Laura Babcock murder trial. There are some legal discussions happening at the moment.

Yes, it's a bit of an enigma at this point. I think the likelihood of him bragging to Ish is possible, given those selfies, so he could be subpoenaed (whatever that's worth) and maybe a cover story in those CN letters.

MS should stay quiet. DM should testify. He has nothing to lose.

I really have no clue how Millard could spin all the evidence against him in to an even semi plausible story that would have him being innocent. Maybe she died during rough sex or OD'd and he decided to dispose of the body rather than calling police? Still doesn't explain why he was ordering guns and incinerators though.

The selfie Iisho posted hints he knew, and quite possibly MS knew. So how to get one or both of those two to testify against DM?

Just brought it up because it may explain a lot about what DM was doing and why.
I don't think MS will have a hard time testifying against him after those letters to point it all on him this go round. Moo

I don't either but I'm sure he's gonna try. LOL

Like the TB trial, the jury has been exposed to DM's letter lying to blame it on MS. It will make it difficult for him to craft a story if he decides to take the stand. MOO

Yes. But what if Johnny had sang ' I burned a body in Reno', and had a friend who he was living off, and most of the things you describe were actually done by the friend: the friend had the last known contact with the victim, moved the body alone, did the videoing and photos while Johnny posed with the incinerator, negotiated for and purchased the gun and ammo and incincerator, gave the victim's possessions to Johnny. Then to convict Johnny of first degree murder is not so clear, IMO.
This is exactly what I'm having a hard time with... I agree with this post.

Justice Michael Code has called for the jury.

"It's now almost 10:45 a.m., we've been here since 9:30 a.m. trying to iron out a number of logistical issues relating to the defence's case. I didn't want to keep you waiting any longer.

He adds, "We anticipate we will be ready by about 12, if you want to do a walk around and stretch your legs, or have a coffee."

Code says "we need another hour and a quarter" before things get started.

Legal discussions now continue, as the jury has left.

I'll be able to start posting around noon eastern time.

Yes, Rabbit for sure and possibly Jen. I'd say also maybe some of WM's friends and colleagues. Why do you figure CN?

I think CN was with MB on the night DM shot WM. I could be wrong though.
