I have SO BEEN WANTING them to allow volunteers and a large search effort. My goodness, one more child still missing. Praying that they find this beautiful boy!

Wow, things are moving:

The DCSO asked for volunteers, 18 years or older, to help search on Saturday, May 19. Anyone who wants to volunteer should CLICK HERE to fill out a form on the DCSO website and sign a disclosure.
...
All volunteers will be issued armbands and assigned to teams. If you are planning to search with a family member or friend and want to be placed on the same team, please make sure to submit your paperwork together at one time. The DCSO plans to try to accommodate those requests.

Volunteers are asked to commit a full day to the search. The DCSO said buses will not return to the high school until the end of the day. The search will go until there is no daylight or Joe's remains are found.

Volunteers should be capable of navigating hills, fences, brush, briers, streams, and areas of mud to maximize the search effort.

"All volunteers are asked to please remember, if found, Joe Clyde Daniels will not resemble the beautiful, blonde haired child we have seen in photographs," the DCSO wrote. "Please make sure you can endure what you might find."

I’m so happy to see an organized, aggressive plan to find this sweet boy. I hope his parents are shaking in their respective prison flip flops.

With that many searcher's they hopefully will find something. Prayers for all of them, and hope the weather will be good.

If this search is successful and maybe even if it isn't, it may change the way LE operates SAR for missing children.

It's extremely unusual for LE to allow civilian searches once it becomes a recovery operation and equally unusual for LE to organize such searches. I've linked an article below that has lots of info on how organized this search will be.

The effort made by LE - bringing in buses, making sure volunteers will have food and drinks, giving clear instructions on what to wear and the day's timeframe, having armbands and assigned teams - is amazing IMO.

The search will continue if it rains and in case of storms the teams will go seek shelter. LE will have EMS and support vehicles on standby.

LE is just beginning to understand the potential value in social media and to me tomorrow's search seems like they are also beginning to realize how much the community can help to find the missing. I hope LE in other jurisdictions will watch and learn.

Thank you searchers for caring enough to look for poor Joe Clyde's little body tomorrow! :heartbeat:

So much community love and participation! The lunches are amazing! This whole effort is really pretty groundbreaking considering how closed LE usually operates. To preserve any evidence that they can he needs to be found ASAP. Joe Clyde deserves to be laid to rest and his family, the grandparents and church family, need to be able to say goodbye. Joe Clyde so much deserves the dignity of a proper burial and his perpetrators need to face the full extent of the law. (I can not bring myself to say parents)

Prayers for the weather to cooperate and that they bring this sweet boy home tomorrow.

OT: Is there anyone else missing in Dickson county? Unidentified remains have been found but they are saying it is an adult: https://www.tennessean.com/story/ne...ins-dickson-tennessee-blackie-road/625334002/

The only one I see who was reported missing in Dickson County proper listed in Namus is one Martha Green who disappeared at age 17 back in 1987. Given that the 200 block of this road is is actually what seems to be a very long driveway through wooded areas on either side to just two homes, I suppose it may be possible.

https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/show/6136

Otherwise, no reported missing from that general vicinity, but 297 outstanding cases in Tennessee are listed.

Has anyone heard of wells on McHenley road have been searched? I'm praying they find him today.

Thank you Dickson community for caring! And shame, shame, SHAME! on Joe Clyde's parents!

Massive search for Baby Joe Daniels turns up no trace of missing boy

Close to 500 people searched in line formation looking for any sign of the missing boy’s body.

They covered 5,000 acres, including dense brush and steep terrain. Temperatures close to 90 degrees forced them to stop often for water breaks.

Some team leaders wore GPS trackers so they could map out exactly where they went, and see what they might have missed.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol sent 15 troopers, a command post and other resources.
...
There are no plans to search again on Sunday

Video at link has a little more info and video of the search. Heartbreaking.

Sheriff Bledsoe said there will be more searches in the future. Next court date for the parents is Monday, June 4. It's expected that investigators will be there and hopefully we'll hear more about the case.

David Rader from TES was there to help coordinate the search.

I hate the parents.

I so hoped yesterday would be the day! How far could he have taken him? He had all night, he could have gone anywhere. My heart is just broken for Joe Clyde. 💔

Hundreds Search In Vain For Joe Clyde Daniels

CHARLOTTE, TN -- Nearly 500 people searched more than 5,000 rough-and-tumble acres of rural Dickson County Saturday, but found no trace of the body of missing 5-year-old Joe Clyde Daniels.

Volunteers stood at arm's length from one another in a massive line, scouring brambles, bushes and mud for any clues. They climbed up and down hills and over fences and creeks, searching for any sign of the boy the county sheriff calls "Dickson County's child."

"We are responsible for what we can do and must do to give him a final resting place and then move forward with the criminal investigation," Sheriff Jeff Bledsoe said, according to WSMV.
