I remember as you remember. I went back and I cannot find the interview to link it, but it is on here somewhere. The brother came across to me as someone who had a more firm idea of who might have done this but did not have the proof and therefore couldn't explain further.
They both indicated that they had gut feelings. Several the brother said.

I don't believe if there was some obsessed guy, that he had to be in contact with her at all... He could have seen her in the community, or online and decided she was his target.

Before the internet, child molesters had to physically go out and hunt their victims. Today teenagers posts their lives online. Even if it was just a selfie... A predator could look at that... find their location (most of the time teenagers make it easy by posting school information, or outright posting where they live) and easily find his victims without ever leaving their house.

I really don't get the feeling here that it was a target of the parents... That is just my opinion. Based on the information we know, things that I have studied, and work I have done in the field. I cannot become a verified source or what it is called. As I worked only as an intern for 5 years... but never completed my internship because the death of my Employer... So I will just State that everything that I have posted is my opinion...

I agree a lot with what u said ..could have zero connection and burner phone or laptop just looking at photos / info ... no direct communication...

I don’t know what y’all think ?? But are most thinking it’s perp leaves with jayme down route 8... to Milwaukee / Chicago / Indy ?? Or at least that route...???

Below is bad / good news. Bad more work to do ... good they may get hit or perp...

Wisconsin corrections officials don't have current info for nearly 3,000 sex offenders

Am I remembering right - did the brother of Denise say in an interview he had ideas of who might have done this? One of the sisters said she had different ideas from time to time but said it like she was just more confused (not quoting here - just trying to remember) but the brother had a more angry face when he indicated he had an idea and acted more certain.

RETRACTION - sorry. After I posted this I went over and over the videos I have looked at and I think I am incorrect in stating that Jayme’s uncle seemed more convinced than the aunts did in having a feeling of what happened. I don’t want to send anyone on a wild chase on the Internet or in their head. I did find this video of the family sitting in the kitchen and talking. The video of them on the couch seems to be the one that comes up on my searches first.

Wasn't Dateline NBC supposed to air an episode about the case?

Not sure that it can tell us anymore than we all don't already know but it certainly would keep the case alive to the public

It is safe to say, this case is extremely cold, and authorities have no idea where to go at this point. It is a shame.
Unfortunately some cases simply aren't solvable. The fact that we are well over a month in to this leads me to believe that the perp was a complete stranger, the toughest kind of case to solve.

I think he took her to his home, raped and killed her, buried her in the wilderness, and went to work the next day.

This is the most likely scenario, but until such time (if any), that remains are found...I’m holding on to that improbable chance that she is still amongst the living.
Sigh...

The more I look at this, the more I believe the timeline for that evening is up in the air. The sheriff indicated in an interview that the killer being in the home only 4-5 minutes is going to leave very little in forensic evidence. But that ignores the two shots the neighbors heard 25 minutes before the 911 call that alerted LE.

For that matter how do I know this even started at the time of the gunshots? Granted, the father being found dead near the door would seem to indicate that he was shot immediately after the break-in. We know Denise made a phone call or text to someone around 10 PM and then there is a 2.5 hour gap to the gunshots. I don't remember any reporting of texting or phone activity in that time frame. For all I know the killer(s) could have broke in 11 PM or midnight and something occurred at 12:30 to cause the killer(s) to shoot him and he falls near or crawls to the door. (Why the killer(s) would be in the house for 30 minutes to an hour before the 12:30 gunshots is up for speculation. But it might shed light on the motive or methods of the killer(s).) I do believe this did occur in a short time frame, but I see no concrete proof of that scenario.
Still catching up for the day so excuse me if this has been brought up- good question on did the gunshots start this whole thing or was the perp there sometime after 10p when Denise talked to a sister. Going to have to think on this some more...but i like this train of thought. Could have been a much longer timeline despite very little evidence in the House.

I'm not sure you are understanding what I'm saying.
Casinos are a hot bed for criminals but especially so on reservation casinos. Somewhere around 40% of ALL US sex trafficking victims are AI or native girls and women. The crime problems on reservations are insanely high (2-7x worse than national average) and prosecutions are insanely low ( 60% of child sexual abuse cases never see a court room).

This really isn't a matter of "don't look at the casino, James doesn't go there." in my opinion. When you are looking at a double murder and kidnapping of a 13yo girl you have to rule in or out the most obvious possible connections.

With a known sex trafficking connections only a few minutes down the road and a casino in that town - You look into that pretty quickly to determine if James OR Denise had been there or not. If they had who did they speak to? Where is that person now?

For Fitzgerald to say he doesn't know if James was there or not is concerning.
I'm not saying I think Jayme was trafficked (because I don't) but I sure would expect that avenue has been properly explored by LE and it doesn't appear it has been by Fitzgeralds comments.

Human trafficking and sexual predator sting conducted in St. Croix County - My Gateway News

Native women are missing. A lot has to do with the oil workers in North Dakota as well as predators that are not native. Many are vulnerable . The man camps in North Dakota are rife with crime of all kinds.

If one wants to look at human trafficking, what are the big jobs sites? Fracking? Does that take a lot of men?

I am not a munitions expert... but have found a few things that make two shots more logical... (correct me if I’m wrong)

I am not stating police office committed the murders and Abduction... please look at article below from recently retired LA POLICE officer. Somewhat nicely explains OO lethality.. it’s essentially the equivalent of 9 9 millimeter shot at once.. so 2 shots is 18 bullets... that would explain statements someone shooting up door.. when in reality 1 shot would look like 9 shots...

Close Quarter Battle (CQB)

The traditional “meat and potatoes” of the shotgun has always been its devastating role in close quarters battle. Loaded with heavy buckshot, the shotgun places multiple high-energy projectiles on the target instantly. Several years ago, I was having a conversation with another SWAT operator about how devastating the MP-5 submachine-gun was. He was discussing cyclic rate and accuracy and boasting the sheer power coming from the sub-gun. He described how he could put 60 rounds (with a mag. reload) of 9mm ammo into a target about five yards away in less than eight seconds. While I agreed with him, I mentioned the similarity of the Benelli shotgun that I was currently carrying. He was puzzled for a moment until I pointed out that my semi-auto Benelli M-1 could hold nine rounds of .00 Buckshot ammo, and that each pellet of buckshot was approximately a .33 caliber lead projectile moving over 1,000 feet per second (slightly smaller, but similar to the 9mm or .35 caliber projectile he was firing).

I then explained that I knew several officers (including me) who could fire that Benelli fast enough to empty all nine rounds into the target in about two seconds. That meant we could fire 81 rounds of near 9mm ammunition in less than three seconds. In a comparison of fire power and speed, that shotgun was faster than any sub-gun I had ever used or knew of. My point is that in a CQB range, the shotgun (loaded with heavy buckshot) is absolutely the most devastating firearm in the police inventory.

Here is YouTube 1 min clip of 4 shots from police shotgun that holds 9 rounds... that’s 9 rounds of 9 bullets. So it holds 81 total.

I didn’t think shotgun because most too much lag to shoot quick... if perp had this gun.. brutal, loud,... lotta bullets quickly.. 2 shots still have 7 to go ...again not a munitions expert so correct if I am wrong.

Our father told us if there was a break-in, to not go for his large caliber handgun, but one of the shotguns instead. Those guns did not have the 18"-20" barrel of the Benelli, but rather 26" to 29" modified to full choke. In the close quarters even birdshot would have taken down an intruder from those guns. (For blowing the lock and hinges, though, buckshot would be preferable.) In close quarters a shotgun is a devastating weapon.
