According to the Barron County sheriff's dispatch log St. Croix casino was called by dispatch at 04:19am, shortly after the murders. They called security at the casino and waiting for a callback to 303. Since Fitzgerald is 301 I think that would be one of his high ranking officers below him. This is on WS at beginning of thread. I don't know how to link it. Also on the log which is posted in another thread. Does anyone have an idea why the casino was called?

He is the ERT Commander. I looked him up early on when a similar discussion took place.

Something to think about...if the perp indeed shot the wooden door before kicking it in, did he/she hold the glass door open in order to get a shot at the wooden door without shattering the glass door? That would be quite awkward to stand and hold the glass door open and then shoot the wooden door. Granted, there appears to be bullet holes in the glass door but not enough from a shot gun shell and too many from a rifle or handgun and why shoot the glass door? the handle was not shot. It is completely intact in the photos...perhaps the holes in the glass door are from the pellets of a shotgun that made it through a body perhaps and hit the glass door as strays? Just something to mull over.

So I’m doing dishes this morning, always a zen activity . . . Thinking about this case and the Sheriff convinced she was alive from Day #1, and thinking about Denise’s sisters first on-cam press conference where they addressed her and begged her to come home (talking about her doggy, Starbucks and Grandpa wanting more artwork from her) and wondering why they were so certain (or was it wishful thinking?!?) that she was alive . . . And why there were not more on-the-ground searches . . . As if they knew she left with someone on her own accord or knew the person(s) . . .

Is it possible she left behind indications that she was “leaving”, that she had packed ~ left a note? Perhaps it was a matter of “running away” and plans went south, fast. Could she have been caught sneaking out for a meet-up and her folks caught her and when she didn’t show up, the perp came to get her? There is so much missing here, it’s infuriating.

I think the “come home” plea is some sort of LE psych tactic. They did that last summer in the MT case and others as well. Perhaps to seem non-accusitory & non-threatening to a killer who hasn’t killed yet. A de-escalation strategy?

I keep my glass door locked. The only way to get through it is to break it and then they would have a steel door to contend with.
Its possible they didn't have the mechanism on it to hold it closed or it was broken and would swing out and say open. I think it would help to know if they tended to keep it locked or not or if it was even possible to lock it.

Also if you are going to pound on the door you open the screen or glass door if it is not locked. Might mean they tried knocking or pounding on the door.

Keep in mind that the only reference that we have about a door being kicked in is a news report of a reporter saying what one of the family members told them. We do have reference of the door being kicked in on the dispatch log. I am not saying that the door wasn't shot in but the only fact about it is hearsay.

One other thing that has been brought up before but is just bizarre is that if LE didn't have more info that they obviously didn't want the public to know then you would think that they would be reassuring the locals safety ALL THE TIME. Letting the locals know that they have extra patrols out at night for they're safety. Please be on the look out for suspicious looking people. Always have your kids near you.
There are a million things they can say but they are telling them that they are not in danger. How do they know that?

Agree. The crime of taking Jayme may have occurred in the last 4-5 minutes, but I think it must have started no later than when the neighbors heard the gunshots and possibly much earlier.

The FBI stated neighbor heard shots at 12:58... and FBI agent told her the clock was 7 minutes fast... then later she said 12:38... I think neighbors are nice quirky folk...still think 12:51 is correct and Fitzgerald right on time of 4 minutes..

You could be right just have trouble believing 2 loud gunshots and perp waits 20 minutes to bolt...now jayme coulda hid for 20 minutes in attic but I don’t think so..?

The police said there going through phones.. u would think they could garner better timeline with phone info.. atleast show jayme texting 11 pm, or Denise clicking on YouTube at 11:45... stuff like that..don’t know if that’s been found out yet ..
Obviously if Denise clicks on Netflix @12;44 that would lock some things down..

Right, timing on page 1 of thread, 1:06am, responding officer says door kicked in, nothing about being shot in...I still think perp may have been in house and shot James as he entered and that’s how wood door may have had evidence from shot.

If that is actually correct why 911 call 20 min later... and so little evidence?? Only thing I can think of is cleanup or finding jayme..or worse things.. dunno..

1 shell holds 9 pellets. But there large pellets .. see the center photo. With 00 or buckshot its one loud shot then the 9 pellets spread out.. further apart longer the distance.. if your 4/5 ft from door would look like 9 single pellets shot in small circle.

I’m aware of what 12 Guage 00 Buckshot is, I have several boxes. It’s devastating stuff for sure, but if you’re 4/5 feet from a door it would absolutely not look like 9 single pellets - it would look like one big hole that you could probably stick your hand through.

Correct... you’d have to have some distance before u see significant spray pattern..

Think your correct did some looking around.. probably 5 yards before u start to see spray pattern ( like I said I’m not an expert.). Simply a hunch it was shotgun of some sort.. someone that’s an expert on shotguns .. would be able to say if you could get spray pattern under 5 yards... either sawing off barrel/lead pellets/shorter shells.. above my pay grade ...

Sadly, I don’t.
If for whatever reason the person was forbidden to talk to Jayme, it may have been more than 60 days ago. I know Fitzgerald said they are now looking more at 60 days back (I think they need to go ever further).

I also know these kids talk a lot on apps put out by companies that are resistant to cooperating with LE. So much so, that they make it difficult for even themselves to retrieve any information. Snapchat being at the top of that list. LE can only get chat text history (not how most use the app) and dates and times of sent snaps or snaps sent within 30 days that haven’t been opened. They can not retrieve the content of opened snaps bc they are destroyed near immediately.

Where I don't necessarily believe there had to be any communication between Jayme and the perpetrator, there are many more ways that they could have communicated without LE being able to get the history.

As a parent, and my previous jobs, and that of my husband, I know that children can easily communicate through games. Where it can be done over voice chat. That cannot be stored, or even text based where it is not saved. So just because there is no online history, doesn't mean she hasn't chatted with someone.

Again though, I do not believe that Jayme had any secret boyfriend in real life or on the internet. I fully believe that she had no knowledge of some guy who was obsessed by her.

I only posted this because it is completely possible for children to have communication online that aren't stored in history where LE could even locate it.

In all honesty, I have no idea which direction he fled. If we knew more about this perpetrator than maybe I could give a more accurate indication of that. Unfortunately, I would just be guessing at this point...

From what I have seen from past crimes like this, the likelihood of Jayme being alive past the first night or nights is sadly against her. Unless the perpetrator seen her more as a possible wife or companion... Again this can only be speculation since we have no clear motive for the murders or the abduction.

My heart wants to believe that Jayme is alive out there, and she will be found. That even though what she has been through was horrible, that in time she will make a full recovery...

My head though argues with my heart. Compiling all of the statistics, and knowledge I know about kidnapped victims. They form a war over me, but I continue praying that she is brought home safely. I pray for her family, and LE. My heart breaks for those who never find their way home. Even in a bad outcome these children deserve to be with their families again.

If the perp/s tried to flee out off the backyard: Are there creeks, rivers, bridges? Would he have been able to flee part of the way with a canoe or the like? When was the first helicopter with heat detection system in the air, if at all?

Another missing teen, Kirsten Renata Stefanee Duarte from Beaver Dam, WI (Dodge County - SE of Barron County). She is 17 years old. She’s been missing for a month and it’s just “breaking . . .Press release in past 24 hours, a couple links:

I’m not seeing a post about this missing teen, hopefully they pulled it because she’s been located. Hopefully. There has been documented sex trafficking going on in Dodge County, working through “Gentlemen’s Clubs”, pretty outrageous stuff for this rural Agricultural area.

“We do not post locator posters for every runaway or missing person. A lot depends on the circumstances surrounding the person initially going missing,” read the post.
