Married Man Charged In Murder of Missing Oregon Woman, 3-Year-Old Son He Fathered
May 27, 2019 01:02 PM
An Oregon man is behind bars, accused of killing a 25-year-old woman and their 3-year-old son, who both remain missing, PEOPLE confirms.

Michael John Wolfe, 52, was arrested on Friday and charged with the presumed kidnapping and presumed murder of Karissa Fretwell and their son, William. The two have been missing from Salem, Oregon, since May 13.

[..]
Investigators clarified that the charges do not mean Fretwell and her son are dead, but acknowledged there was sufficient probable cause to warrant his arrest.

Father arrested, accused of aggravated murder of missing Salem boy, mother

Updated May 24, 2019; Posted May 24, 2019

Salem police say Michael J. Wolfe has been arrested in connection with the disappearance of Karissa Fretwell and her 3-year-old son, Billy. He is accused of aggravated murder and kidnapping.

Wolfe is the boy’s father.
A search warrant seen on the front seat of a car belonging to a missing Salem mother indicates authorities are searching for evidence she and her son were killed.
Lt. Treven Upkes, a Salem police spokesman, said Thursday he couldn’t comment on whether police think the mother and son might be dead. He said they were “operating under the assumption” that they are together.

Upkes said he couldn’t confirm if or how Fretwell and Wolfe knew each other, or comment on when Wolfe was last seen.

Not odd, its messed up... The led a secret life and didn't want to pay the ordered child support. He was paying her informally but was in control of the the amount. We have heard many similar stories on this platform of men and women as well acting out on their anger. Hopefully he is talking to LE now to give closure to the Fretwell's.

A vigil is about to start at Maud Williamson State Park for Karissa and William Fretwell. We just spoke to the organizer who says she wants to restore hope in this search and remind people to be vigilant. She says this is not a memorial, it’s a vigil. They want them home safe.

I heard it might be Chapman who is up next for arraignments.

I have not been able to find the case on the Oregon courts website.

Chapman was not preferred by law and order conservatives who favored Lysl Miller, but so far she seems to be quite sentient.

Yamhill County' homicide rate is far higher than one would expect from a rural community. People are beginning to get angry about it. The judges are beginning to take notice.

Its not on the website yet because he wasn't processed until the early am hours on Saturday. Either 830 am or 1 pm arraignment tomorrow.
