I'm still recovering from reading this news --- 2 more held accountable.:)

I believe this arrest may answer earlier questions about request for the private investigator!

Also, I believe part of the plea agreement required defendants take polygraph exams.

I read that newly accused M Salazar prevented his girlfriend from telling /warning about the crime against Ben.

I'll be watching for the name of that girl.

I don't think it's Ben and Jonathan's sister as mamma Rose probably would have disclosed this -- or not?

MOO

CHEHALIS, Wash. - Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the brutal rape and murder of a 16-year-old Lewis County boy last year, officials said.

Both of the suspects were arrested Friday, according to Lewis County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer. They are the fifth and sixth persons to be arrested in the case, which resulted in the death of Ben Eastman, 16, of Randle.

One of the new suspects, identified as Michael D. Salazar, 17, has been charged with murder, tampering with evidence and rendering criminal assistance. Court documents allege that he knew about the plan to assault Eastman before it happened, but did nothing to warn anyone and furthermore physically prevented his ex-girlfriend from alerting anyone.

BJ Eastman, Ben’s dad, said at court, “Kind of puts you right back at square one. All the thoughts. I have to relive them again. That one person could have stopped it.”

Salazar’s mother, Amanda Haggerty, is also accused of rending criminal assistance by helping to cover up the crime and misleading detectives. Both are being held on $250,000 bail.

2 new suspects arrested in 2018 rape-murder of Lewis Co. teen

LEWIS COUNTY, Wash. -- Police have arrested two more people in connection with the brutal rape and murder of a Randle teenager that happened last year.

In June 2018, 16-year-old Ben Eastman was found beaten to death and buried in a shallow grave.

The details of the murder shocked the small town of Randle. Prosecutors say two brothers, Benito Marquez and Jonathan Adamson, lured Eastman into the woods, where they kicked him more than 100 times, sexually assaulted him and beat him with a rock.

Marquez and Adamson have both pleaded guilty. In early July, Adamson, 21, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder, first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of witness tampering.

Marquez, 17, pleaded guilty in February to rape and murder charges.

Now, police have two new suspects. A 17-year-old boy is likely to be charged with murder and rendering criminal assistance, while a 42-year-old woman is also likely to be charged with rendering criminal assistance.

Hi @Niner - I'm assuming the mother did not make bail either? Surprised both bail bonds set at $250k.

Thanks...

If they carry on finding more suspects this little town will be even less populated.
LE are doing a great job rounding all these animals up and charging them. I don't really like plea deals but if you think of all the agony that will be avoided for dad AND catching even more people who knew about it, IMO this was a good option the prosecution has chose.

Recently Released Video Depicts Randle Homicide Suspect’s Interview with Detective

A video interview between Jonathon Adamson and Lewis County Detective Sgt. Kevin Engelbertson recently made available for public disclosure requests depicts Adamson providing a play-by-play account of the night he and his brother, Benito Marquez, have admitted to killing Randle teen Benjamin Eastman III.
[.....]
The video shows the two standing on a forest road, surrounded by thick brush and trees, with Adamson pointing out the specific location of the assault and where the body was hidden.

It is inferred during the interview that Adamson and Marquez planned their attack on Eastman based on the belief that the teen had wronged a female subject known to them.
[.....]
More than a year after the interview was recorded, both would plead guilty to the death and two more individuals would be arrested — Michael Salazar, 17, and his mother Amanda Hagerty, 42. Salazar was accused of knowing that the two had planned to attack Eastman, and prevented another teen from reporting their plan to a third party. Hagerty, Salazar’s mother, was accused of helping them come up with a false story to tell detectives and tipping them off that the body had been found, prompting their attempted escape from the area.

Adamson’s plea agreement includes an agreed-upon sentence of 510 months, or 42 and a half years to life in prison.
[.....]
Lewis County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer said Adamson and Marquez will likely not be sentenced until the other cases were resolved.
