I actually read a news story thAt said How he was related. But when I went back to copy it, it was changed. Now I’ve only got a screen shot , at least I know it wasn’t just my imagination

yep - I think someone jumped the gun so to speak - LE hasn't released that so they aren't supposed to - at the presser yesterday they had no comment on the New Haven relative in custody. We posted it upthread. JMO

The woman’s body was discovered Monday in her Myrtle Avenue home. Venessa was not found inside the house.

It was also learned that investigators had asked city officials about doing a search through trash collected in the Myrtle Avenue neighborhood, but the trash was picked up Monday morning and taken to the trash to energy plant in Bridgeport.

On Wednesday, police asked for videos taken in that area by cameras attached to houses.

Ansonia Mayor David Cassetti said police are investigating a lead involving something that may be in a section of 15 clothing bins off of State Street in Hamden.

Lt. Patrick Lynch declined to discuss the extent of the woman’s injuries or whether they are hampering a positive identification by the Chief State Medical Examiners’ office.

A cross checking of fingerprints in databases is being done to ID the woman. As of Thursday morning no positive identification had been made.

A prayer vigil for Venessa Morales and her mother will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at Veterans Park in Ansonia, next to City Hall.

The baby’s father, who sometimes stayed at the home, was interviewed by detectives, but police did not say if he is considered a suspect. Lynch said the father is cooperating with the investigation.

Police said family members from the father and mother’s side are being interviewed, as well.

Police said the child's father is at his parents' house in New Haven and is cooperating. He has not yet been identified.

During a news conference, police said the father of the child occasionally stayed at the home but didn't live there.

“It’s extremely important based on the conditions that if anyone is outside that we get them inside but it’s more important in this case because we don’t know where she is at all,” investigators said in a statement. “We don’t know if she’s outside or inside, if she’s safe with someone. We just want to locate her and make sure that she’s safe and we can get her back home to family.”
