24 people in the courtroom - of which 7 places are reserved for the media. Masking and social distancing required.
40 or 50 in the fairgrounds main hall.

"The livestream will only be accessible to the judicial laptop at the fairgrounds building and to immediate members of the Morphew/Moorman families".

That is not that many viewers. Possibly they will be able to watch them to try to make sure they are not recording.
They should certainly be able to track down anyone who infringes the order with that kind of limited audience.

Order Regarding Protocol For Preliminary Proof Evident Hearing

Do I remember correctly that two articles were recovered early on, besides the bike? I know it is presumed that the helmut was one...though unconfirmed. Any ideas on what the other item was?

Today’s order mentions that Suzanne’s siblings and children will be permitted to watch via a livestream. It goes on to say that her siblings are out of town. I’m curious why the daughters would not be presumed to join in the courtroom, given they live locally?

It may just be the judge giving them the option to view livestream. He seems very solicitous of the daughters so far. I would be surprised if the daughters don’t at least start out in the courtroom, unless BM or his attorneys asked them not too.

Will Barry appear in his government issued tiger suit.....or...will his attorneys fenagle and get authorization for him to appear in street clothes?

I hope to see Barry in his usual courtroom attire. A jail-issued orange and white jumpsuit, a blue face mask, shackles on his ankles, and handcuffs.

Bonus points if the handcuffs are pink like Patrick Frazee wore in court, but I’m probably hoping for too much there.

As far as I know, only one item was found and never identified. If I were to guess, I’d go with the helmet or a water bottle. Possibly her phone, but I doubt it. Her phone should have been with her or in the house, and if not, why not?

CHAFFEE COUNTY, Colo. — Authorities launched a targeted search Friday for a Chaffee County woman after a personal item thought to belong to her was found in the area west of Maysville where she went missing.

Suzanne Morphew, 49, of Maysville, went for a bike ride on May 10 and never returned.

The Chaffee County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) didn't say what the personal item was or where exactly it was found.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that Andy thinks Suzanne's phone was destroyed. I get the impression that he may have a specific reason for thinking that. Perhaps has been advised by the police that Suzanne's phone is missing.

Moorman said his sister’s cell phone stopped working the day she disappeared.

“I think her cell phone was destroyed after that. And I really suspect foul play, if you want the truth of the matter,” Moorman said.

I am stumped about many aspects of deference by the daughters. I wonder if they've been harassed and threatened?

One hour? Is that in dog hours?
I believe the entire day slotted off for Barry. For 4 days… re-evaluating after the 2nd day to see if they’re going to need even more time, or whether the court will set some rules and restrictions on how long each side has to question witnesses.
Can’t get through this trove of evidence in 4 hours.

Another reporter we’re all going to want to follow.

I will be at this hearing coming up next Monday. We'll likely find out some of the details behind what happened to #SuzanneMorphew. We are allowed to live-tweet, but we will not be allowed to record the hearing. @KKTV11News

I can post these tweets for you all - BUT! Only the morning tweets - otherwise after 1pm MT - it will be my bedtime here - 10pm EEU. :) Maybe someone else can take these over in the afternoon.

Regarding the question if Barry will be in jail issue clothes or street - doesn't the defense have to file a motion to have him wear street clothes? I don't see anything on his court site about that if so.

Not necessarily. A lot of the motions in haven’t been uploaded in a timely manner. For instance, defense filed a motion for Barry to skip out on appearing on the live stream for the last hearing. We still don’t see that on the court site either.
..or maybe it wasn’t an official motion. Lauren’s tweet said they requested it. So, who knows.

Ah - I did not know that - thanks for that info! :)

This male dominance entitlement is shared by untold numbers, especially in the bible belt.
Nah, I grew up in the South. Dad and three brothers, husband, two sons...
They tried anything like that and stupid would be stamped on their foreheads and paraded around town as they were being escorted to jail!
That’s just a “Barry entitlement” thing.

I might literally die if we find out the bike was inoperable, and Barry kept pushing the “bike ride” in the media after he “learned” of that fact.

I’m so very curious about the bike. I think something not right about the bike added to the early conjecture by LE that SUZANNE did not have a bicycle accident.

I’ve also thought the something wrong with the bike prompted nephew TN to take himself out of the family spokesperson role, and his silence following. His statement for people to ask LE about the condition of the bike has always puzzled me, and is basically the last we hear from him.

How his extrication from involvement fits with the two men who approached MG, if he really was one of the two, I don’t know. I don’t recall when she was approached by the men, and didn’t check the timeline before posting. Sorry.

Unlike many here, I don’t believe he helped BM with the “Oh, Suzanne” video. I think he was distancing himself from BM by that time.

Anyway, I sure hope we get some facts about the bicycle at the prelim. And when we have access, the AA should answer most, if not all, questions about everything.

I think I read that those attending in the courtroom aren't allow to stream but can tweet? If I didn't get that right, please correct me.
At the Fairgrounds, what's to keep someone from live streaming it (or recording it) on their phone to youtube, fb or whatever?

Maybe someone will have an audio/video capable spy pen?

(No, I’m not encouraging anyone to go against the court’s instructions. Making a feeble attempt at a bit of levity in the midst of this horrific case.)

I will be upset if Lauren doesn’t get a seat. I wasn’t happy when I read that she would know end of this week.
